Fans are gonna get more and more pissed off I think if their teams are taking the knee for the whole of this season and beyond. This is just the start.

There are lots of other worthwhile causes around the world so why not rotate the focus onto each cause on a match by match basis?

I personally think clubs are **** scared to be the first club not to take the knee.

there are F1 drivers who choose not to and they don’t get panned.

Racism will never be defeated by “protests” only by education. There is always a place for symbolic gestures but they are only a part of the whole solution.

I prefer to listen to what is being said and by whom and to watch what’s being done and by whom. We all know that bending the knee is a protest against racism but people bending the knee isn’t IMO going to alter a racist’s opinion. It has highlighted again the fact that the problem exists but is anyone aware of any new initiatives to address racism? I’m not. I’m not pretending I’ve been avidly looking to see if there have been any new initiatives but surely if I know about the knee then any new initiatives would also have been public knowledge.

And sadly for the fight against racism we are back where we were in the 1960’s and then 1970’s and etc talking about it and relying on gestures.

Don’t get me wrong Society has progressed and is not as racist as it was. Ask the “elders” on here I’m sure they would agree. It is a slow process and will always take too long but we need to move on from the “knee” and get on with the educating and new initiatives to educate as racism ultimately will only be defeated by education.

Given that a Black Lives Matter group has registered as a political party, the PL are effectively endorsing politics - something that FIFA / EUFA rules don't allow ...

No, we genuinely aren't - what we see in the media are the extremes, things are still significantly better than they were back then

Having said that, I can remember National Front members getting a good kicking outside St James' back then too - so it wasn't all black and white (pun intended) ...

Once its normalised it loses all meaning and becomes routine.

The suggestion above that we are somehow back to the 60s in the terms of racism is laughable.

Black people are, without a single hesitation, the most over represented minority in Britain, if not Europe.

Black British/Black immigrants are one of the smallest minorities, yet are on almost every single television programme you can find. I would like to ask Asian members of British society what they think of the "anti-black racism" in Britain. Im sure they'd laugh.

British people getting involved in this nonsense is embarrassing enough, the fact we are somehow finding a way to continue dropping a knee longer than some parts of America is just hilarious.

    We just love attention.

This country is no where near as racist as the media etc would like everyone to think. Sure, there a pockets/enclaves of morons but on the whole, the UK is one of the most tolerant countries on the planet.

I might write to sky and the BBC to complain that as a white male I feel marginalised and underrepresented and therein discriminated against as their primary focus seems to be only on blacks.

tou are bank on there mate. Saw an article today where a paper was running with a story about the Millwall player Romero. Apparently he told the journalist it was the low point in his career seeing what happened yesterday. Did the journo put him at easy by saying the fans will be sick of the narrow focus on one race or the fact that BLM is now a political party and a Marxist leaning one at that? Nope.. that doesn’t sell papers.

sky are the worst for us. They employ thick, poor communicators like Micah Richards to give insights when there are much more qualified people out there to do the job, but happen not to be black. Look at the soccer Saturday shake up. Out for a few genuinely funny ex pros.. on come come box ticking less experienced pundits.

You miss the point about the 1960’s reference.

Racism still exists now as it did in the 1960’s. We talked about racism in the 1960’s as we do now. It’s less prevalent now than in the 1960’s a point I make but we aren’t doing anything new since “bending the knee” began we are still just talking about it.

We should be doing more in educating everyone, especially youngsters, to avoid racism occurring. The fact that one minority has organised itself to highlight racism perhaps more than other minority groups have should not deflect away from the fact that that organised group is still discriminated against. To be crystal clear though racism against everyone should be stopped.

I agree bending the knee has served it’s purpose and it’s time to actually do something about racism rather than simply make gestures, a point I think Les Ferdinand was making a while back. It’s the lack of any “new” doing that needs to be addressed.

You still have to wonder though what was going through the minds of those people at the Millwall game that booed.

they are probs sick of the narrow scope and constant barrage the BLM now represents. Racism is a wide issue that blacks. I’m sure some Asians must me thinking.. what about us? Native Americans, Chinese, gingers too.

There’s saying no to bending the knee. But booing it is a bit different. For the record I think it has ran it’s course and as someone pointed out, when it becomes the norm then it’s done.

My six year old daughter asked why they where doing it and I told her. She said so what about white people. For they not matter? I didn’t want to fully explain to her.

Again I still maintain that racism exists and will
Not go away. But it’s to heavily used in circumstances to manipulate the outcome of things.

I’m all for equality. But it by very definition has to be at the very least “equal”

I don't understand why people are bothered by it. It's like a few seconds and there's obviously deep feelings behind it..

The problem is its antagonised some ****ing idiots into booing and that's actually exposed the issue black people have in the 1st place.

These people exist and tbh it does need eradicating from society... Can it ever be? I'm not sure because the human race is programmed just like ants and other living creatures to dislike difference, see it as competition for survival and destroy it.. I believe a huge % of people can now override this primal instinct, but my god for many out there I wonder if they ever will have the capability to do so.

my kid asked me the same. I said of course all lives are equal..

If the media had a **** rest over the full of grey squirrels saying all grey squirrel lives matter... they would be excluding reds which isnt correct or fair. All squirrel lives matter.

I agree. Education starts at home. And you can be educated, in the wider sense, positively or negatively.
