Didn't deserve a win, I don't understand why you'd take off Williams, very harsh and draws pressure upon ourselves.
Morgan will be dropped now for giving away the penalty. Pratley & Watson nailed on to start in midfield next game whatever
Thought we were about to commit robbery today before the deserved equaliser. We looked a bit better at the back, but not much. Not enough movement in midfield. Maybe we sacrificed that to protect Pearce and Famewo, ease them back in. It puts too much pressure on us though. Amos is doing a great job of keeping us in games at the moment.
That's 1 point from 3 games against Burton Albion, MK Dons and Shrewsbury Town. A promotion team should not only be beating those sides, but filling their goal difference boots. The match stats today show Shrewsbury had 19 shots (5 on target) against our 11 (2 on target). Shrewsbury had 6 corners to our 3. And the Burton & MK Dons stats are just as damning. The slump continues.
A 1-0 win would have papered over those cracks and given a little confidence boost. It would have ended a blip. I suppose you would call it a slump now.
Worrying times, especially for the absolute faith we've had in Bowyer. A fluky win with a deflected goal might have signalled an upturn, but bringing on extra defenders never works for us.
Bowyer has just said in after match interview that Williams was substituted for pulling out of a tackle. After criticising the fans on Wednesday he is seriously losing it. I wouldn't be surprised if he is also losing the dressing room. These players are underperforming in a big way. If things go on as they are I can see Sandgaard having to make a decision.
From CL, made me chuckle. Russell Slade : Nice midfield. Bowyer: Whatever... Slade: Looks like mine. Bowyer: Who's in yours? Slade: Foley, Ulvestad, Crofts, Jackson. Bowyer: Cheap. Slade: And yours? Bowyer: Forster-Caskey, Watson, Pratley, Gilbey.
Regarding the game, two things stuck in my mind. In the first half, a 70 yard back pass on our left from Pratley to Amos. In the second half, a 60 yard back pass from our left by Maatsen to Amos. Because on both occasions they had nobody moving for or wanting the ball in front of them. When you remove Doughty’s pace and Morgan’s creativity from this team, you are left with very little, particularly without Shinnie today as well. Gilbey is a feather weight and JFC, despite clearly being a Bowyer favourite, offers absolutely nothing. He has no pace and his corners today were woeful. As has been said by many others, picking Pratley & Watson to stand next to each other doing identical jobs is a disaster. Bowyer has let himself down a couple of times in recent days, first with his comments about the fans, and now about Williams. That is what I find the most disappointing.
Bowyer said at the start in the summer that he was going to change our playing formation this season, nobody realised he meant he wanted to play sh1te boring football !
Lee Bowyer said that? I'm genuinely shocked. Sounds like there's much more disharmony going on (with a few players at least) than we've previously been aware of. TS needs to keep a close eye on this.
