I agree. Once Poyet was gone it was always going to a level or 2 down in terms of quality and experience for any of them and at that point you are looking for the best fit for your club at that point in time.
in the championship. lets get up there and replace him if we need to. the club needs to stick with its new plan of a sporting director. this guy just needs to coach the team and put an attacking team out on the pitch. everything points to him being decent at that
Youth certainly seems to be the direction we are taking, which makes sense given the facilities we have. There is some logic in it I think, albeit a bit underwhelming on the surface.

from an ipswich fan. most of the other teams in out league would love this appointment. and yes, we are in this league.
Shankley and Paisley spring to mind, but for the most part there are very few and all in the past. Tis the lot of most managers to become journeymen, perennially outstaying their welcome.
interesting to see who Johnson's assistant would be, seeing his previous assistant took over from him at Bristol City. For me that's another indication things can't have ended too bad there for him. Their club didn't want a complete fresh start, just a refresh.
Win percentages are never a good or fair indicator of a manager. Context is key. He took over Bristol City when they were near the bottom of the championship and gradually made them into promotion contenders. That is how he should be judged. He was never going to be hitting high win percentage in that division with Bristol
