Grant McCann reported to the press that his Hull City side had come through Wednesday night’s 2-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers with no new injury concerns.

The Tigers’ Head Coach reported after the Doncaster game that Jordy de Wijs, Dan Batty and Callum Jones had been sidelined through injuries, but was pleased to report that he’d be able to pick his team to travel to Oxford from the same group of players.

Reece Burke was only on the bench in the Tigers’ midweek triumph after undergoing a small operation to fix a broken nose last Monday. McCann explained that he didn’t want to risk the centre-back after being forced to self-isolate for three days before having the procedure, but was confident that Burke would be available for Saturday’s visit to the Kassam Stadium.

The name Oxford comes from “Oxanforda” – “Cattle Crossing”.

Oxford was not bombed at all during WWII as Hitler wanted to use the city as a capital after conquering England.

Oxford was the capital of England during the Civil War (1642 – 1646).

The Ashmolean Museum is the oldest purpose-built museum in the world.

The University of Cambridge, was actually founded by Oxford scholars who fled the first of many “Town versus Gown” riots that erupted in Oxford in 1209 following the murder of a local woman by students.

The word “snob” originated in Oxford. It comes and abbreviates from the Latin phrase “sine nobilitate” which means “without nobility”.

The Holywell Music Room (1748) is the oldest music performance hall in Europe.

Oxford has more published authors per square mile than anywhere else in the world.

The Queens Lane Coffee House is the oldest continually working coffee house in Europe.

The Blackwells books in Oxford is the home to the Norrington room – the largest room in the world in which books are sold.

Oxford is five minutes behind Greenwich meantime because it is 1 degree west of the prime meridian. That’s why the Great Tom Bell rings 101 times at 9.05 pm every evening.

Balliol college was built as a punishment for insulting the Bishop of Durham.

Anyone remember the old CI headline "Shouldn't Hull be top by now?" - if memory serves it was posted by a bitter and twisted ****, Simmo_oufc; they, and the Brummie streak of piss manager Ian Atkins had a real 'thing' for us. The total dismantling of them and their subsequent spiral into non-league obscurity was most satisfying.

Blimey, that's dragged back some memories. Wasn't there three of them? Your man, Big_Ox and some other empty vessel.

I can't help feeling a draw is just around the corner as we haven't had one of late. It's likely to be against a team we would expect to beat, so could this be the game?

Will having people in the ground make any difference? The lack of them has seemed to have levelled the playing field for away teams?

I guess the only question is whether Burke plays instead of A.Jones? Although Terry has opted to play Alfie alongside Smallwood in away games, so he might put Docherty on the bench, though that would be harsh on the Doch, after his performance Wednesday evening.

That's right, the third might come to me - a real bitter and twisted bunch, they were way past banter.

Wouldn't be surprised to see one of the starting CMs from Weds drop to the bench with the run of games we've got coming up.....but with Slater, Jones and Batty as alternates to come in there, rotation is not something to fear for us this year

I think the return of fans, however small the crowd, will make a difference

Add a 3 star jumper, 2 inch platform wedges, denim jacket with numerous humourous patches sewn on by ya Ma, silk City scarf tied around your wrist.

If you were 14 in the mid seventies it was a statutory requirement to look like a complete ****ing dick.
