    Despite a massive campaign to try and introduce ethnic minorities into English history the facts do not support the myth that there have been hundreds of thousands of significant black and brown people here for centuries.

    DFS Christmas advert with Wallace and Gromit features a multi-ethnic family. Even in plasticine the advertisers are trying to push the mantra of mixed race families as being the norm. Sainsbury's got a load of stick for the Gravy Family but I thought it was great and a pleasant change to see black people on TV without the need to justify their existence by being in relationships with white people.

    It is lazy writing on behalf of advertisers, film and programme makers to throw in a token dark person as an other half to a honky but expect to see this on an industrial scale when the Oscars start to dictate quotas.

    Mini documentary about Croydon's **** architecture and layout. I like it because the presenter is a young [wannabe] toff named Phineas, and he appears as out of place in this run-down patch of South London as would a polar bear in the Amazon rainforest.
