Big game, some axes to grind and some points to prove, particularly Cavani if he gest a start. Should be a free scoring game, hopefully goals against won't do us too much damage in the group. Looking forward to this one.

Nervy game in prospect. Hope Cavani and VDB start.

The maths indicates that we need one point out of the last 2 matches to go through. It will be more reassuring to get that point at OT instead of trying to get it in the last match away at Leipzig. A win means we top the group irrespective of the last day’s results. So worthwhile to get that win today.

interestingly tonight match in Turkey between Istanbul and Leipzig has no impact on our need for that point. Unless Leipzig lost which is unlikely as they are 2-0 at the time of writing. Even a draw doesn’t change the requirements.

so whatever we do today we simply shouldn’t lose. Kiss of death?

Team news - Strong line-up - VDB and Greenwood on the bench. Some guy called Pogba who wants to leave will be sitting there too -

Really looking forward to Cavani starting - he'll probably be marked to death by PSG but that could create more space for Rasher and Martial.

I've said this before but every game is highlighting how weak we are on the right going forward.

I reckon he'll take Fred off at HT and Pogba to come on. If that happens I really hope Pogba returns with a new lease of life.

We really need to bring Donny on for Fred now before we get disadvantage with a player sent off.
Not sure what the gripe is with the Argie lad but he is out to get Fred.

A very astute move by Ole, bringing on Pogba AFTER Fred's been sent off.

    Finishes 3-1

We need a point from the last game. I'm not sure we'll be getting it.

Whether we go out or not, it's woeful management.

I said the same thing at half time. Fred was on borrowed time as the ref thought he probably was too lenient with the yellow and was looking to rectify his leniency at the earliest opportunity. A more savvy manager would have replaced him quickly. In fact as soon as he got let off,

overall I thought we had enough opportunity to get a draw. We didn’t play that badly but game management by the manager was poor plus the ****ing indiscipline of certain players. Martial got sent off when we needed a comeback against Spurs and now Fred. What is ****ing wrong with these players? What have they got between their ****ing ears?

I think it is 50/50 whether we go through. We play better away but then Leipzig are better at home.

We'll play for a draw and lose.

But it'll be off the back of winning at West Ham, so Ole will be fine.

I think Solskjaer needs to make his mind up to be absolutely honest. Stick to the plan, and win every game instead of throwing in the odd clueless abomination here and there.

Or, just be consistently **** and then leave.

Either please, what's going on right now helps ****ing no one.

It was a shocking decision. I could just about (and I mean borderline) understand it if it had been a poor challenge. But he lost his rag and tried to headbutt the rat. Got a yellow and was lucky to still be on. At that point you know the PSG players will be using every trick in the book to get him sent off, and taken him off.

Tbf to Pogba he did come on with the bit between his teeth. Had he come on with 11 on the pitch I think we would've got the draw.

Thoughts on Martial? The sitter he missed yesterday which would've given us a 2-1 lead seems to be typical of him these days.

I really think his time is up at United. My only reservation being the depth he adds to the squad as a forward but other than that I don't see a long-term future for him here.

His heart isn't in it - it never has been. He has never been a United player - he plays for himself, rather than the team - if he spent half as much game time tracking back and helping the team rather than looking up at the big screen replays of himself he would be a better player.

I would go so far as to say he has become a bigger problem in that his being in the side unbalances us. Martial isn't a centre forward, he wants to be , but he isn't, he doesn't have the predatory nous for a top striker. We need Rashford on the left, Greenwood on the right and Cavani, Ighalo or a Harry Kane clone in the middle. We need to sell the French pair - Martial and Pogba - who is slowly but surely being made to look surplus to requirements without there being any detriment to the side. The next time he opens his mouth to say he wants to play for Juve, RM or anyone else I suspect Woodward will be there to hold the door open for him.

It's not just me, these are his stats from WhoScored -
