With so much being said about head injuries recently, this popped up on my Facebook page today. I think the player involved, iirc, was Stuart Pearce.

 

At what point did we start calling Dele Alli, simply "Dele" ... literally see it everywhere hes mentioned and it really hacks me off. Hes not ****ing Pele, or Maradona.

 

It's because he was adopted after his mum became an alcoholic so didn't feel any connection to his surname. I suggest a bit of research before slagging someone off. I've learned my lesson.

 

Where did I slag him off? I'm not being critical of him by saying it hacks me off or saying hes not Pele or Maradonna.

 

Just watching Arsenal game. Only 2,000 in there but making a great noise (no it's not the fake noise). Quite emotional seeing fans back at games to be honest.

 

Neither is Juanmi. The single-name-or-nickname convention is pretty widespread, but rarer in England.

 

Think it's more than the one word nickname, just I explained it badly earlier.

Just don't like people being called by their first names in that type of situation.

If harry kane scored, they wouldnt refer to him as Harry., would they?

 

Was watching the Amazon series on Spurs and noticed these weird curved table tennis tables at their training ground. Wondered what they were and...ladies and gentlemen... I give you...TEQBALL

I think it's lost it's power now and has just become another meaningless gesture like t shirts etc.

Though part of me would be happy to see it stay if it's gonna annoy people that much. Agree that this won't be the last time it gets that reaction though unfortunately.

 

You can predict that this will become the fashion with the moronic element of these clubs with a notorious fanbase, Leeds and Chelsea next I expect.

 

Theres no need to do it every game for the past 6 months.

If players are being forced into doing it, which they are, then what is the point? Its meaningless and pointless.
