fair points mate, on the flip side SAFC could be the making of them. I know very little about them so no idea how they would go ......someone has to get it right eventually, don’t they, surely, please
I get your point for an immediate lift but what if one of these came in and in 2 or 3 months we've just gone on a 5 or 6 game winning run? That would get the place buzzing again as well. Sometimes the quick adrenaline shot is just that, a quick jolt that does what it was meant for but you need something else in the long run to sustain you. I'm not against Pearson but I just think we all need to see who comes in and judge them on there performance here and hope it's a good and lasting one.
No, they don't have a huge fanbase and that's the point. If they can do it with them, they can do it with all the resources that SAFC can give them.
So just to confirm they can do it when no pressure is on, but it’s unknown if they can do it with fan pressure?
It’s great to talk about it and debate it but I’ll put it out there, that vast majority of us couldn’t care less who is in Charge as long as we are winning
It was full of optimism until about 4pm....then we had our accustomed kick in the knackers and,as you say,it turned ****.
I haven’t crticised Prehab and actually posted saying that I believe he has sources and what he posts. You however have a superiority complex and jump on anyone who dares to not believe you, that being said, it’s anything you have just spun and regurgitated from posters who do seem to get genuine information. You clearly think your better than everyone else, Why? I do not know and it comes across in the way you post, its been mentioned by several posters, yet none have advised how they feel ‘attacked’ by me, as it simply isn’t true. From the post above i’ve been described as snide and a worm, the fact you admit you talk down to me, have an inferiority complex, sly and insulting. FWIW I also posted apologising if you felt attacked however that was clearly ignored. The problem is with you.
There’s a balancing act to be done here guys. We need to both be demanding an expectation from the manager and players that league one is not good enough, whilst at the same time appreciating we are in league one and aren’t going to attract the big hitters. The Cowley’s don’t necessarily hit the first point the way a Poyet, Pearson might do. But we have no idea how they’d approach the job. If they come out in post match interviews saying performances aren’t good enough and are talking sense, making the right changes and demanding success, then great. The fact they’re not the “name” we want should be a concern, but nothing more.
Bob Stokoe trundled around various lower league clubs before transforming Sunderland ... ... Clough was at Hartlepool, 2nd division Derby and had many critics, turned out fine.
How do you know there was no pressure? You can hear every word spoken in those grounds and non-league fans are just as critical as league fans. There would have been other pressures too. Like limited budgets, players not always available, the transfer system at that level where you can lose you best player for nothing. Plus, they managed at Lincoln and Huddersfield where crowds would have been far larger.
What worries me about this so called takeover is, is it a takeover or just Donald redistributing the shares to keep him in place. Suppose Sartori increases to 40% KLD 40% Donald 15% Methven 5%. We all assume KLD and Sartori are new owners. But if Sartori sides with Donald they then have a 55% say in the club. Is that a better option than the bearded one?
I don't. I admit when I'm wrong, mock myself and happily admit I'm either passing on info or having a guess as the situation fits. Your first reaction, with the Poyet situation, was to post a to @Prehab26 then post this indignant message .... ... "@Prehab26 @Smug in Boots @Wheatsheaf @Magnus well then." Just drop the obsession with me, other posters, on here and RTG, and try posting about football. You've made your point, you think I'm a liar, fake, whatever ... ... no need to keep repeating yourself and derailing the thread.
Tbh if the Cowleys have got the job it won’t be because of what they did at Concord or Lincoln. What they did there is just what got them the interview. If they’ve got the job it’s because what they’ve said / Demonstrated in the interview has impressed whoever has interviewed them, which is likely at a minimum Rodwell and the sporting director, and possibly Sartori and Dave Jones etc
no pressure with a 5k fan base is different to one with a 15k, and so on. Limited budget. He will do well here with a duck all budget then Players unavailable, yup another boxed ticked. Losing best players? He’s buffered cos we don’t have any good players anymore. Get him in, sounds like he will tick all the boxes for the Oxford chancers
Supporting Sunderland feels like someone constantly kicking you in the knackers until there's a point you think they've stopped but in actual fact they're just changing into a bigger, heavier set of boots
KLD's not daft. Neither is Sartori. They will be calling the shots. Donald no longer has voting power. It will very much be the KLD/Sartori show from now on (albeit with a Sporting Director running the day to day) Donald is only retaining his shares so he ca make some sort of return if and when we get back to the PL
You have took the laughing emoji as laughing directly at him, not the state of the football club again ****ing the fans around and us completely ballsing up a situation. I tagged you in it because I wanted the latets news, just like many others have done and as you say you know stuff, you might have been able to shed some light as to why its fell through and what happens next. Is it a case of being allowed to ask questions when your posts are potentially ringing true, yet when it goes tits up on the back of what you’ve said, nothing can be mentioned? Its almost like what I said in previous posts is true. Trust me, I have no ‘obsession’ with you
I love the idea some people seem to have that KLD / Sartori / Sporting Director had one choice and one choice only and that was Poyet. And now that Poyet has said no they’ve gone “ok Donald, Methven and Rodwell, you can pick one now”. Our second choice is going to be the second choice of whoever chose the first choice. They’re not going to suddenly yield power to others because they didn’t get the guy they wanted. if it’s Cowley it’s because they all wanted him, not because Rodwell, Methven and Donald wanted him
