I can't believe this thread, why on earth would Chelsea want to bulldoze 10 years of history.

I reckon HammersmithBlue is really mitchwfc.

Going back to the original point, it's going to be a struggle to find room for a 30k stadium in the borough, never mind 60k.

District Line how many if your fans would be willing to move to outer London if that's the only way to deliver the extra seats? That's a big pro an con

I have no idea who Mitch is; but to answer the wum who said Chelsea cannot fill a 42k stadium. In 09/10 we sold out every game bar one v qpr despite the fact that tickets were half price and rangers took their full allocation.

it was our lowest crowd for three years for an English fixture

That's because your plastic fans were scared after our last visit in the FA cup the year before. Great day that was see all those cameras flashing when joe Cole warmed up and never seen so many tourists at a game.
Used to go to many games in the late 80's and Chelsea had proper fans then. Knew loads of Chelsea boys then but a completly different club now.
Glad we still have the same fans as we did back then just a bit fatter and older.

Still getting back to the thread.
Don't want Chelsea anywhere near us and cant see it happening anyway.

    It would never happen

It was also right after the Spurs game as well

Don't be ridiculous, this is 2011, not the 80s. People have grown up since then. The fans are still around but people grow older, have kids and plus the better CCTV has thankfully meant football violence is less prevalent. It was a midweek game against less than glamorous opposition in a less than glamorous competition. Of course you are going to get tourists <doh>

Chelsea won't move to White City, I'll eat my hat if it happens... and yours ;)

District it was meant as a joke so chill out. You don't need to explain, but funny that you did.<whistle>

But seriously i think we all know that you won't be building at White City as the council would never allow it but it fun to debate.
I think that Roman should take your club to Russia. I think most fans in England would like that.

I personally think Chelsea wont be going anywhere - there's enough real fans (meaning long established fans, not as a slight to the noveauxs) that would sooner keep the bridge than expand to 60k+ outside SW6.

Cant see Fulham leaving the Cottage either, after re-acquainting myself with the place at the weekend.

Agree neither club needs a 60K stadium.

We could fill it for some games, but not all, not at these prices. Need a discount like WHU are proposing to their fans.

I think Chelsea would need something like a 50K stadium as they are not exactly an Arsenal or ManU. Also i wouldn't knock West Ham because Whenever you go To Romford/Essex and Beyound its all West Ham.
I couldn't believe it when i went out east how many fans they had. I reckon they are just as big if not bigger (Minus the plastics and tourists) than Chelsea.

Plastic fans v empty plastic seats....mmmm

We'll fill your ground for you on October 23...I've got three tix in the Ellerslie.

Not like the good old days when most of the Ellerslie, away end, most of the paddock, South Africa upper and even a few hundred in the Loft

Let me guess, your father, grandfather and brother are all season ticket holders at QPR - and they are letting the runt of the litter tag along for the ride?

Ha ha. Your stadium is not sold out to season tickets; so any members who joined before Sept 20 were eligible to apply for tickets from Sept 23.

And you still haven't sold out yet.

You should have given us the Schools End, half the Ellersie and the South African paddock; then you might have sold out

It's true. Chelsea fans would go to any lengths to ensure they were in a good position for a punch up even if it meant fighting with themsleves. This new stoke broker generation of Chelsea supporters simply do not understand the history involved here. Yer proper Chelsea fan is now limited to having a barny with Cardiff fans on the King's Road rather than having a traditional toe-to-toe in the ground itself. Shocking really.
