    This is how I remember Bruce as well. I'd go as far as to say he got less slack from the crowd than a lot of other managers. Barring the Wigan home game when the crowd turned, he got nowhere near the abuse he liked to bleat in the press about, and try to rewrite (and blame the fans for) his own failings.

    We have to be ready for this. The smarmy media are going to be upset we aren't appointing the regular League 1 plodder. Bear in mind most of this lot told us Parky was a good choice.

    Nick Barnes mentioned on total sport last night that Ellis Short and and Gus' relationship broke down because he wanted to bring in better players that Ellis refused to release the funds for. Benega was going to cost a canny penny.
