“When Ehab got sole charge of the club, everything changed for me.”... and for the rest of us Alex... https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alex-bruce-hull-city-allam-4744838
There's so much wrong with the treatment he's suffered at the hands of Ehab...It's indefensible and shameful and for once I'm speechless.
Shock horror. Player past his sell by date released by club. Early in his career he was released by Birmingham due to accusations of nepotism. The same was bandied about when he was awarded an increased new deal here. He enjoyed the best of his playing days here and was more than adequately rewarded. Thanks Dad. Having a go in public at such an easy local target as Ehab is, to me, a cheap shot. Though I am sure this slagging off of a previous employer will ensure his cv is at the the top of the pile come selection time when another club is recruiting a new manager.
Have you read what he says? He's talking about the manner in which he was released, not just moaning about being released.
Irrespective of who his Father was I think he deserved better than that.I never saw Alex Bruce play for us and not give 100%!!
Yes, I have read it. The poor lad got to know he was being released via social media. Newsworthy if he was the only player ever to be so notified. Somehow I doubt it. Any other player, any other club, and it would be a non-event. Here in Hull, just stick Allam into the article and out come the frothing mouths.
Alex Admits himself that he should have stayed at the club and got himself fit enough to be considered for the first team. That was his choice. Being informed by twitter, if that is true, does sound shoddy but compare that to being given the chance to play in the Premier League and in an FA Cup Final by Hull City. Also Alex wasn't the only one facing surgery at that time. Another fella in this little tale was fighting for his life. Two sides to every story, his and his old fella's.
What Alex says is pretty much what most people knew already. Frankly, what we know of Ehab's way of working, is that he gets rid of anyone who might question his authority, so he can then call all the shots. With Ehab at the helm and his Dad leaving on an acrimonious note, there was never going to be a nice parting of the ways with him. I agree he deserved much more respect, but he was never going to get anything of the like, Frankly, it was shameful how his father and then latterly himself were handled, but it was always going to be that way with Ehab Allam.
All else aside, the agent seems a bit of a **** passing the message on just as he's going in for the Op. Surely they should have waited?
Agreed, it was poor. Regardless, it was really shabby of Ehab and was just driven by his dislike for his dad.
It was ****e of Ehab, there's no dispute, but that shouldn't detract from the fact that the agent definitely deserves a ragging for the timing of passing the message.
If your contract at work was up, would you expect to be told you weren’t being kept on or would you expect to find out second hand?
Why is it? Alex Bruce's employer was Hull City? Regardless of whether it's the done thing in the industry, it shouldn't be. It's still employment.
It's a very tawdry way of carrying on whether it's the done thing or not - what it is most of all though, it's yet another stick to beat the Allams over the head with, a totally avoidable own goal. PR? They haven't got a clue.
