If you haven't checked yet, take a look at the CFC web site and the article about RAs 1000th game.
What an amazing list of achievements , and what a history of success with RA as the owner. There couldn't be a better owner in World football, so congratulations to RA from this fan.
As for the 1000th game itself, another huge nail biter on the cards, as Spurs are going really well under Jose.
Both teams will need to be 100% on their game to win this one.
My selection, for what it's worth.
    Mendy
    James Silva Zouma Chilwell
    Kante
    Mount Havertz
    Ziyech Werner Pulisic
Subs Kepa, Dave, Rudiger ,Kovacic Gilmour, CHO, Giroud

A season defining game. Massive boost for new players, young players and everyone at the Club if we were to win this one. Can we put down a marker for a major challenge this season ? Personally speaking i think with the form that Spurs are in, this one might be coming 6 or 7 games too early for us as we still haven't clicked fully yet. Hope i'm wrong and we make Roman's 1000th a game to remember ! Come on the Chels.

Yeah a bit like the Liverpool game came to early for us, but its games like these that define the season that we will have. I cant agree with CP for putting in Havertz he needs time to be bedded in, this is a crunch match. Kovacic is a must he has the nous to cope with the threat that Spurs have. I do believe Havertz is a luxury for now and should be used in less important games. But I trust Frank and whatever he decides will be fine with me win lose or draw. Oh yeah Thank you Roman, you are the best......

You might well be right re Havertz and I'm thinking CHO maybe to start instead of Pulisic too ?
However Frank rarely heeds my advice so I'll go with his team on this one !!!

CP I'm guessing as we all are but as sure as **** I don't want Ze Slug even close to the pitch today.

The thing is, we know how Spurs will set up and we know what their game plan is. If we can stop them getting the ball into Son and Kane they don’t really carry much threat.
I think our team will be able to contain their wingback attacks and hopefully our creative hub in midfield will be enough to unlock their defence. I just hope Werner has his shooting boots on this time!

Lots of positives to take from this game. Take a bow Kovacic, Silva, Zouma. Thought Kante Mount Abraham James Chilwell Mendy all had good games Ziyech was a little below par as was Werner. It was not what I was expecting from Spuds they were less scary than I thought they might be, so credit us for reducing their threat. MoM for me was Kovacic.

Agree about Kova. Would always have him in for the big games. He was class today. Happy with the point...could have lost it in injury time with Kurt's mistake, which in fairness, was his only mistake. Was ****tin myself about what Kane might do because of his recent form, but i don't think we let him touch the ball for the whole 2nd half ! So reassuring to have Mendy on board. You don't have to squirm now every time the ball is in our 3rd !!! Werner only got one real chance...and scored. In fairness to the Lino it was a good shout as it was close. Ziyech had a mare...but that happens. He will be a big player for us. Silva class as per. All in all, thanks Roman for all the joy over 1,000 games. We've all experienced some of the best days of our lives !!!

Agree with this apart from Abraham. If we are serious about challenging for the title, he cannot be our main striker. He doesn't anticipate things and his misses today were shocking imo. Get Werner in the middle where he can contribute goals. Playing him out wide ****ing annoys me. The rest of the team looks fine.

Have to say I agree, Tammy put in plenty of effort but was back to being "almost" Tammy, almost stayed on side, almost got the header in, almost stayed on his feet. I'd have hooked him , centred Werner and brought on Pulisic. Not over impressed with Chilwell, not the replacement A. Cole that I expected, instead too much turning backwards. Solid enough but, I'm not yet a fan. Ziyech was pretty ordinary today, but it was a bit of a controlled team today, for the right reasons, with mostly slow build ups, with Kova and Mount not able to turn their many runs into great service for the forwards, that came mostly from crosses that Spuds handled well.Big improvement overall from the fragile team of last season, but still an awful lot to improve in our attack. When that linking up comes, we will rattle a few cages.

Agree with every single one of these posts

We are heading in right direction, just need some leaders to emerge like Silva: the general

You got it absolutely spot on. Kante and Kovacic simply put Kane and Son, (sounds like a Builders firm) out of business. That made it hard for Spurs though their left midfield made some lively forays down Reece James' side. Reece was up to it with help from Zouma, who was great again.
Liked the direct approach from Spurs, big difference to us who passed it across the backline for 5 mins until someone actually moved forward. Too much flapping about for mine , would like to see us be more direct. Can't argue with the result though, with better finishing we could have had a couple in a tight, tricky game.

Thought our game was crying out for Giroud especially in the second half.I'm happy with the way things are going,
    hope Pulisic can stay fit!
