Give him 10% of our club for gracing us with his presence? Behave man, I've never heard anything so rediculous. You think our club is something that can be just sliced up and distributed about for free? There would be Murders. He's an average prem manager who was a half decent fit for our club, he was never going to turn us into world beaters, he's worth his wage an that's it. Our club is not a fooking buffet or a time share. It's a British institution and should be treated as such.

I'd give Phillips a go personally. We are in league 1. There will never be a better chance for him to cut his teeth as a manager.

But that’s the point isn’t it. We don’t have the time to allow someone to cut their teeth. We need a whole new outlook at the club. One where mediocrity is challenged. One where the piss taking party is shut down for ever and all the partygoers given banning notices. I loved watching SKP and I know that he will have a soft spot for the club where he made his name. But we don’t have the time to allow someone to practice on us.

Getting someone off the managerial merry-go-round by no mean guarantees instant competence.

He's experienced enough for me to learn on the job.

Roy Keane did ok as a fresh new manager with no experience.

Personally I would be afraid to tarnish Phillips memory of him playing for us. People comparing his appointment with Keane. It would be a completely different ball game as he had money to spend and bring in as many players as he wanted, 38 in total. KP would be very limited in that respect

He'd be a good choice. Sounds like he has the skills and ability. Demonstrated more than once he can drag a team up.

I understand that but the hope of the fairytale outweighs the risk of a nightmare for me.

KP has way more experience on his side than Keano did.

These new lads should have a few quid to chuck around.

I can see phillips being given a decent amount of time by our fans to get things right. And let's face it, the quality in this league doesn't require a master tactician, just some bloke with half a brain in their head.

I get why people wouldn't want him. I just think it's time he got his chance.

If this was at the end of the year I would be saying throw a **** ton of cash at steven gerrard. Who looks like he has a decent future.

Dont think gerrard would even look at it, he’s got rangers looking like the champions for the first time in 9/10 years, don’t think he’ll leave it and let someone else take the glory. I’m not saying he wouldn’t come to us at another time though, it’s just the wrong time atm. Good shout though.

Now is just impossible. In the summer would be very hard given he will be riding high.

But throw enough cash at him and give him the chance to be the bloke who made rangers relevant again and left on a high.

League 1 doesn't exactly help mind.

Offering 10% of a business to somebody just to come and work for you <yikes>

In fairness, 10% of the business is probably about what the guy would earn monetarily in a year.

    Sad state of affairs.

Let’s keep having 100% of the club owned by people who don’t have a clue about football.

Obviously he would be also pulling a wage. If we get to the premier league and sell the club it could be for a few hundred million. He would get 10% of that.

    Madness.

That's down to not employing the right people. Why on Earth would we offer them 10% of a business instead of a wage?

I'm sure it's Poyet. Based on nothing but a hunch. I don't think it's a great move. But I am sure he is coming in.
