There's a heap of online discussion about how much foil is needed in the water when the power of the wind changes. It seems to be that less foil is needed as the downward pressure increases due to quicker speeds. First the pic, then the equation below. It's all so simple when properly explained. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
But then again, this side of the debate could be right. It's to do with the transverse plane. Silly me. please log in to view this image
I'm only just beginning to realise that these boats are being modified on the run. Each team is running multiple boats which are little more than trial horses for boat 2. So far, Britannia and Patriot have redesigned their hulls. They look more like Luna Rossa now. And the long awaited unveiling of New Zealand's boat 2 takes place tomorrow. The nerves within the respective camps are beginning to show. Hands are being held close to the chest now.
At least they are giving them proper names - Britannia and Patriot. In today's world I'm surprised there hasn't been a social media ****storm insisting the boats be name MeToo and MeToo2 to reflect the role of oppressed women in the sport.
Winner on the college one last week. Here's this weeks: Buccaneers -4.0 Browns -3.0 Dolphins -3.5 Ravens -6.0 Patriots -2.0 Bengals +1.5 £5 returns £331.03 And College Football: Done all overs on the points totals. I struggled to find enough selections on the handicap coupon to make it a worthwhile acca. Georgia Southern/Army - Over 40.0 Kentucky/Alabama - Over 57.5 Tennessee/Auburn - Over 50.5 Wisconsin/Northwestern - Over 44.0 Mississippi State/Georgia - Over 44.5 Kansas State/Iowa State - Over 46.5 £4.54 returns £242.13 Edit: Clemson game postponed so edited bet to include Tennessee/Auburn instead. Lost 46p already but returns roughly the same
Day 14. Tomorrow there will be a massive final bout in the tournament. Takakeisho, (13-1) the highest ranking man will be trying to impress the judges as he takes on Terunofuji (12-2). Should the latter win, there will be a play off between them. So it's possible that we'll see then fighting twice. Takakeisho badly needs the win though. He's the only man with a chance of being promoted to Yokozuna in the near future. And as stated in earlier posts, both Yokozuna will probably bow out next year, which will leave a huge hole in the sport.
The 15th and final day of the last tournament of 2020, and it came right down to the wire. The powers that be always save the best until the last. Takakeisho took his score of 13-1 into the bout against Terunofuji's 12-2. The latter need a win to force a play off. Although Takakeisho took a slight weight advantage into the bout, Terunofuji possessed a 6 inch height advantage. The two men were easily the most dominant over the last 15 days.
One of the all-time greats. I would have loved it if they'd made a film about his time at Napoli, amazing how he lifted them to the heights almost single-handedly and he was treated like a God down there and there are some great clips of him on YouTube in that packed bowl of a stadium. There will be some sad folk down there tonight. This is a nice collections of some of his absurd skills. RIP
They did didn't they mate? Came out last year just called Diego Maradona. Haven't seen it myself but I'm sure it's about his arrival and subsequent success at Napoli
Not even close. Only got one NFL result right nevermind the handicaps. Onto this week: Seahawks -5.5 Dolphins -6.5 Vikings -3.0 Rams -6.5 Bills -4.5 Cardinals -2.0 (wouldn't mind this one letting me down as its against my team) £5 returns £284.03 And College Football: SMU -12.0 Indiana -12.5 Oklahoma State -11.0 Appalachian State -13.5 Michigan Boston College £5 returns £237.05
Racing can be a deadly business, but thankfully a lot of thinking goes into it, giving drivers like Roman Grosjean the chance to return home in one piece.
Never seen this before - 17 perfect darts from MVG and just half an inch away from back-to-back 9-darters. Gives a new meaning to the phrase "in the zone"
