pearson for me anarl he would sort the **** attitudes out, but so would Big Sam and he definitely has an eye for a bargain in the transfer market, brought in the KKK and we were flying Kirchoff Kazri Kone

Pearson or Poyet would be my best options. Also remember that he wasn’t able to retain Ki, Marcos Alonso or even Borini. That was Congreton...

Poyets interviews about his time with us say that he and Congerton were at loggerheads and Congerton wasn’t buying the players that Poyet wanted him to. If that’s all true you can see why things didn’t work and why he got fed up with it. That doesn’t account for what happened with Bridcutt n Buckley who I presume were his choices.
This is why it’s imperative that manager and DOF are on the same page from the off

    Layed foundation at Leicester.
    And with Phillips,,,,,

Real coup for this division to get them two imo.
    I'd be buzzing.

Give a listen to the What the Falk podcast on YouTube where Poyet is interviewed. Obviously it’s his side of the story only. But if what he says is true he was massively undermined by congers anc it’s no wonder things went tits up. If what he says is accurate, I’d be happy for him to come in as long as there’s a DOF who can work with him rather than against him.

Did Poyet **** in the dressing room or does he go in the toilet like most of us? Can't remember what the truth of it was.

He wanted Borini who he reckons wanted to sign. He wanted Ki who had been here, knew the system, was a good retainer of the ball yet Congerton brought in Rodwell instead for more money. He wanted Marco Alonso who was excellent for us and ended up at Chelsea, Congerton signed PVA who couldn’t play poyets system. You can’t possibly say Congerton was justified for that **** show just because two of poyets choices didn’t work out. Those three had been here, played the system and had worked well yet congers knew best

We also ended up having too many players to settle instead of having players who were settled and wasting on gambles instead of safe bets. Poyet could see the cheap skating was costing us more not only in results but also financially. In short Congerton was crap and Byrne and co encouraging it were also clueless.

But Borini didn't want to sign and wanted to stay at liverpool and try and work his way in the team there,He wanted Ki but Ki didn't want to sign for him as he had a chance of European football in Scotland, Marco didn't want to play for him either as you say he had his head turned to Chelsea.Rodwell admitted was a disaster but the whole board here was chuffed at the signing till we found out the truth.and you cant possibly say the rest of those choices were all down to Congerton, as that would mean Gus wouldn't have a say in the choices, which he did have and your last point those three were part of the reason he was sacked, you can easily trawl back to his sacking to confirm but im not going to do that as i know what happened.

my info came from all the roker reports and the papers, there are always 2 sides to a story as to who was telling the truth. Its all water under the Bridge now ill stick with Pearson as he has been there and done it

As I said in previous posts I’ve listened to HIS version of events and if they’re true, I’d be happy to have him back. He says Borini wanted to sign before we ****ed him around and Alonso signed for Chelsea long after leaving Sunderland so I don’t think your right in saying they’d turned his head??
You say those three were part of the reason he was sacked yet they’d left the club the previous season. You obviously are dead against him and fair enough as it’s all about opinions but I guess we’ll have to agree to differ on this one

no problems mate i don't want to trawl back, but i do respect you sticking to your guns its all a matter of opinions and at the end of the day we cant influence who they pick we can only hope, like when the shortlist was out last time i was praying it wasnt Parky but he ho what do i know.

Mate the club was a joke and Poyet mentioned failings.
    Di Canio also had problems.
For all Poyet's failings and DeCanio, and i will mention Keane too. They were a good fit for us because of passion and commitment.
    All managers sign shìt players.
    But you can't buy charisma.
Look at what that Wham boy tart Keegan at the scum did.
Tactically inept but build a team to attack and force your positive attitude.
    That's what we need.
    MACKEMS ATTACKEM
    Show no mercy.
    Go for it.
    We are Sunderland.

I loved big sams team once we got the January signings in. I’d love to see him back building a team but I think his ego would tell him that league one is beneath him and therefore don’t think there’s a chance in hell he’d come back unfortunately
