The Falklands factor is the primary reason for the longevity of the incident and the game.

"I remember watching it as a 19 yr old and my honest reaction was how the **** did he get away with it?"

Exactly my rant at that moment (WTF had NONE of the match officials seen it ?? ) .

"I also remember him being kicked stupid in the match, which to me is as much a part of
cheating as him punching the ball in the net."

    1. Twas hardly the level of Pele vs Portugal in 1966.
    2. It did not go unpunished.

On #2, Fenwick had already been booked for fouling someone.
He was the last man on the run to goal 2, and I maintain to this
day he did not attempt a "take one for the team" tackle precisely
because he knew it would be a second yellow (hence his limp effort) .

OK, I get Ronaldo, Messi and Pulisic and I can sort of understand most of the others, but Martial and Bonucci are a bit out of left field.

I am not sure I agree, if we take a random match from 70s - The 1970 FA cup final Chelsea V Leeds, probably the most violent domestic match played in this country, and at the time no one really thought there was much wrong with it, that match was watched recently by a current ref who believed that under current rules that the red cards shown would have reached double figures. That level of aggression is just not possible today and surely the actual game is better for that.

That's not to say that the game is any cleaner as the new cheating is 'the art of simulation' and the 'Pep style cynical tactical fouling' now that I agree has become mainstream but I don't think Maradona played a bigger role in that that any number of Brazilian or German players, or Spanish and Italian managers.

I remember being in tears as a 9 yr old when I heard he was leaving. Why would anyone leave Spurs to go to Derby? That's like cutting your own leg off. I couldn't understand it. Sorry Derby fans......I was just a kid.

Biggest killer in Senegal would be Malaria I'd guess, followed by diabetes, TB and HIV.

    Packed with toffee pennies...robbing b***tards

so many orange and strawberry cremes...too many

    not enough purple ones

too many fudge a not enough of the green rectangles(solid chocolate nutty thing)

coconut ones are rubbish should be about 3 in a box maximum

not keen on caramel cups(yellow ones) wouldn’t be missed at all

toffee fingers are classics...they deserve the 6

orange crisp round ones are neither here nor there...no great addition
