    Fancy Copperhead myself.
Will back Kildisart too as he was my big bet at Chelters and as per usual for me was 2nd and should have won.

I can't believe Bet 365 are going EVS about Epatante today. Whilst I love Sceau Royal to bits and have great respect for Silver Streak they are not top class Grade 1 hurdlers and the mare, and reigning champ, should have little trouble taking this.

The Hennessey is as competitive as ever but I don't believe there is a really top class second season chaser lurking in there so I will stick with the ultra-consistent Potterman e/w who gets a nice pull in the weights with Secret Investor. Hopefully Tom Cannon can deliver him really late as he didn't seem to do much in front at Wincanton.

The Gerry Feilden has had some smart winners over the years (including Epatante last year and Rock On Ruby in 2011) and Botox Has can continue his progression off top weight. Marie's Rock is highly respected but I think Botox Has could be an extremely high class individual.

The Ladbroke’s Trophy is The Hennessy, right? I do wish they wouldn’t do that - change things, I mean.

No idea who wins it, not a Scooby as they say. Might give Mr Malarky another chance.

Yeah, it’s the Hennessy. Looks a modest renewal without Topofthegame, Champ et al who would have made it much more intriguing. I’m hoping Secret Investor can go well and as we’ve already seen, Potterman is interesting at the foot of the weights. Hopefully though the ground plays into the favour of those classier horses and Secret Investor to me has the best form.

I was wondering the same myself about Epatante. If she's fit and runs to her standard then there is nothing in the race that can beat her, so why is she that price? I am always very sceptical when I see the bookies offer what seems a better price than you expect about well known horses.

Yep, call me a traditionalist but I think a race like the Hennessy ought to just be called that forever, whoever is or isn't sponsoring it. The name evokes so many memories, same as The Whitbread Gold Cup or The Racing Post Chase. I also don't understand why the Bula Hurdle was renamed the International Hurdle - no sponsorship issue there and whereas the old name remembers a dual Champion Hurdle winner, the "International" is just dull. Anyway, rant over.

Diol Kier 8/1 - F'house 11.30. Made a bad error 4 out the last day, this will be his 3rd chase start - falling first time up before that mistake put paid to any winning chance lto. He has beaten Monkfish before, albeit over hurdles but I was always a believer he lookes a nice chasing type so I will roll the dice once more today. Monkfish is extremely short given its his first outing over fences and he seems the type to improve for racing, here's hoping Diol Kier can upset him once more today.

Minella Melody 5/2 - F'house 1.01. She has good form over the intermediate trips thus far and she ran a cracker last time behind Beacon Edge (runs tomorrow). Concertista has every right to be favourite but her one win from 7 runs doesn't inspire me to be rushing for her at evens, and I'm not sure she will have the stamina of Minella Melody over this trip and ground today.

Only two Mullins hotpots to beat then, I like making it as easy as possible for myself!

Best of luck today lads, some great action today and tomorrow. Envoi Allen will be in action on a cracking card at Fairyhouse tomorrow too <ok>

    Morning all...bets today:

Newbury 1.50pm Champagne Platinum 8/1 each way. Henderson has a strong had in this and the return to hurdling will suit.

Newcastle 2.25pm Sceau Royal 7/2 win. I think he s looked a different animal this year and just looks incredibly well in himself. If there is a time to beat Epatante this will be it as she is having her first run and Sceau Royal will be razor sharp for this.

Newbury 3.00pm Copperhead 12/1 each way 5 places. Has course form, looks the ideal galloping type for this race and was majorly progressive last season. Slight question mark over his well being but I m trusting the Tizzards to have him A1 for this which has been his long term target.

    Good luck all!:emoticon-0167-beer:

If there is a time Epatante will be beat it will be today..Sceau Royal has looked sharp and we have not seen the reigning champ yet. I m taking Sceau Royal to beat her in a tight finish..

Also think it's quite telling Daryl Jacob heads up north rather than ride Kildisart in the Ladbrokes Trophy today..

I hope you're right Pops as I love Sceau Royal and I won't be betting anyway. I just think Epatante is different gravy mate <ok>

I notice RTE2 are showing Fairyhouse tomorrow, might have to try various nefarious means to get a stream of that as Racing TV streams have all dried up.

If you are able to download the RTÉ player app, you should be able to watch it then. I am not sure if it requires a sign up or registration, it would be only a matter of going through the formality of entering an e-mail then I think, if that is even required. Its a long while since I used it.
