Themoney would have been better spend on redeveloping the canal system.

 

There's no canals where I live

Clearly it is! And anyway the canal system would not be used as a transport system for people getting from A to B. It would be for the transportation of goods.

 

Like I say I have no canal so **** that.. Spend it on something for me

 

Ok you can have a decent transport infrastructure- good luck when house prices rise and rent prices do.

 

That'll increase anyway as always, so I'd prefer it was spent on the poor or maybe the NHS

 

Trust me, it'll be nowhere near London prices. For all our wonderful transport system I would much rather be paying cheaper prices for beer and mortgage

 

Apart from freight and family/friend/tourism journeys, nobody needs to go anywhere for business now. Just connect digitally. HS2 is a white elephant. It will be a century or more before it pays for itself.
Maybe I'm wrong, If so who cares!!
