    Has died aged 60

Maradonna had successful surgery on a brain blood clot earlier in November.

It was then announced he was to be treated for alcohol dependency.

For me, possibly the best player of all time.....apart from "the hand of god"
Sad that outside of football he was a time bomb waiting to go off...............still sad though and definitely a football legend..

Not the best by a long way off the pitch.
On the pitch he was the best of his time and arguably the best of all time.
I forgave him for 'the' goal soon after just because of his sheer brilliance.
I bought an Argentina shirt for my boy, then 9 years old, and for 2 years he hardly took it off.
It's especially sad Diego dying on the anniversary of George Bests passing.

good player, but the tag great is bandied about too easily, to qualify for that tag you need a bit of class off the field as well,

Watched the netflix Maradona in Mexico series and he was clearly a shell of a man with serious health problems. Don't speak ill of the dead here .. Learn from them. Look after yourself.

Good player, but not the best ever IMO, no where near as good as Pele, a troubled character off the pitch , RIP

Will be remembered as not the greatest ever, but one of the greats of his time.
But his memory, especially from an England point of view, will always be associated with the fact he was a cheat.

Undoubtedly a very skilful player - of that there is no dispute - a flawed genius.
Sorry, but I'll always dislike him for the 'hand of God' - not just for him cheating (the officials should have spotted that and really, could a 4 foot something tiny bloke outjump the 6 foot something Shilton - plus Shilton's arms???), but the arrogance of the actual statement.
    God indeed.
I'll always be angry with him, but I don't wish him dead though......

He was a great footballer with serious side issues and he shouldn't be judged by his negative factors. RIP Diego.

when your cv includes, serial cheating, caught in a naples brothel snorting coke with a girl of questionable age, and being sent home in disgrace from a world cup its difficult not to judge him. any way so long as the fa dont send a rep on a first class jolly to his funeral thats fine.
