I worked for a Jewish theatrical agent who said he could contact any star, in the world, within 3 phone calls ... ... I reckon this lad could do it in 2
Love it. Absolutely love it. Throw in Sartoris father in law in the background just for a laugh and it's happy days!
Wise Men Say’s recent pod was a very interesting listen and outlines why they’ve been fairly skeptical about this takeover. They were scathing of Methven’s behaviour over the last 12-18 months and provided some really informative views of why they’re hesitant to be fully on board the takeover while Methven is involved (even know he’s supposedly no longer involved according to the club). They consistently referred to the legal threats they’ve received from him too which is outrageous. I’m certainly still on the ‘can’t wait until it’s done’ bandwagon but thought it provided some balance as to why there is some skepticism about (rather than flat out negativity).
I was surprised how quick they threw a wet blanket on proceedings but that makes sense. Despite his contacts Chaz has been more hindrance than help. He owns a tiny amount of the club but acted like a majority shareholder every chance he got. A look on the Oxford forums was a real eye opener.
I listened to it whilst walking home tonight. I enjoy their’s and Roker Rapport’s. The reaction pods can sometimes be a little depressing though. They were basically suggesting that CM is some kind of machiavellian figure still pulling the strings at the club.
Just desperate to get this done now. That article is very uplifting and this lad isn’t going to be playing at it if the tone in the article is correct. Bring it on.
Methven is far from a Machiavellian power player, if he was he wouldn't have f@cked up as much as he has. He's given far too much credit on that score. He might think he is and try and act it, but he's really just an irrelevance. He lacks the real financial muscle to influence people, so relies of his "connections" and their wealth to do it. But it really boils down to how well he's in with the big boys to have any kind of influence, and if you start siding with one set to closely, you risk alienating others so you don't have any influence with them, or you try to be all things to all men and end up being dismissed as not being important or influential because no one knows where you stand. When the big boys get fed up with him, or he's outlived his usefulness to them , they'll squash him like a fly. My guess is that he's trying which to judge which way the wind's blowing and trying to be on what he thinks will be the winning side, so he looks important and connected and trys to benefit from it.
it's my sons birthday so I'll be opening a bottle. He won't get any though as he turns 6, but a takeover announcement would be a nice prezzie
Very well put mate. Methven is just an opportunist who'll piggy back anyone he thinks can support his weight.
There's more than one lambo in Sunderland marra.. Was it a yellow one or a Black one, they are doing the rounds regular .
Make sure you take care mate ... ... apparently they're worth more if their boxes are in good condition
Used to see a collection of Lambo’s, Ferrari’s, Rolls Royce, Porches all parked outside of Grill n Chill in Seaham on any given day. Not anymore like
