Only issue is the football inbetween the journey there and back. Hopefully he has that even more sorted than the ferry
If I were to guess I’d say we were due another “more complete” leak in the next week or so - perhaps from the Daily Mail next - before official confirmation within a week of that.
David Jones just replied to someone on Twitter who was advocating the importance of a Director of Football at a club. Jones said “Basic common sense”. Could be a subtle hint.
I’d say it’s an incredibly unsubtle hint . He wouldn’t be speaking against what the club’s intentions are. all good news
That Athletic article is a tremendous read. It provides a bit more info about the prospective new owner than I have seen elsewhere. They have clearly put some time and effort into some research and I am not sure a publication like that would invest in it if they didnt think it was advanced. As to the prospective owner I have to say I like the sound of him. Anyone with a football upbringing around Marseille will be sure to have a passion for what happens at the club and on the pitch. If the club get rolling and we get sonething to cheer on the pitch you can be sure he will love our passion. Sounds like he is really well liked by some serious French football people too. Maybe we will be a perfect match - fingers crossed...
Yep, could be the most obvious indication yet. Stating that it’s common sense to have a director of football, whilst currently working as a director at a club, would be strange if something weren’t happening to move toward that.
On my way home from work from Washington to Sunderland I was driving behind a Lamborghini, the first time I've seen one in Sunderland, maybe Kyril Louis-Dreyfus was just driving about sussing the place out while driving over to the AOL to sign the deal.
If the Dreyfus group take over it could throw everything we've known up in the air. He alone is a confident multi-lingual, business educated man, forget his age or how you were then. If he takes over I don't believe he'll be the distant majority share owner some see him as ... ... I think he'd more likely be finance and marketing director. With his education, football knowledge, international contacts and ruthless nature I couldn't think of anyone we could employ who could be better. Not only that, I believe he may be currently unemployed ¦)
I was in my mid teens during the summer of 1998, Cracking summer, fantastic world cup memories. Since then I've always had a soft spot for France. Haway Le prise de contrôle.
I’m old fashioned. Don’t like directors of football. A lot of managers don’t like working with them. Too much interference. Don’t get me wrong, anything will be an improvement on what we have at minute
Seen a lambo the other day heading toward the bridge past the old Vaux sight.... genural direction of the Sol.it's meant to be marra. Reg was "4 Q STU D". lol
Yeah, but its de rigueur (see what I did there?) on the continent. So maybe that's a clue. A continental manager perhaps.
I like the sound of this lad more and more every day, his age doesn't bother me at all. The contacts he must have in the business (media, advertising etc) and the football world will be phoenomenal. Can't wait till it's announced and he is at the AoL with the scarf pic. he won't be running it day to day but doesn't sound like he will be cutting corners and doing it on the cheap, sounds very professional.
