Has anyone seen any of the Jesse Stone films?

Tom Selleck bought the film rights to all of the books.

Very understated low-key, movies. Love em!

I didn't know they'd made film versions, I've read most of the books, one of my favourite authors. I'll look them up, nice one.

Robert Parker wrote in the neighborhood of 30 Spencer novels, all fantastic. His Jesse Stone novels, now made for TV movies, are excellent.

Aye I've read all the Spenser's, love them. We actually considered Spenser as a name for our baby but she turned out to be a girl.

I think I've read all the Stone's too but there might be a couple I haven't. Big fan of them too and I'll check out the series. I like his westerns too, they suit his minimalist, spare style.

Yeah nobody does it better than Spenser. Have you read any of Carl Hiaasen? Probably not spelling that correctly, another favourite author of mine.

Yep, but not a great fan. Actually, Dick Francis was my favorite when I was young. But, I was a horse racing guy.

I was going to start a thread on tv boxsets, but discovered the 'search forums' facility at the top of this page after nearly 10 years of being on here!

So during the lock downs, me and Mrs Dorset have been watching a few series that we had heard a lot about, but never watched.

So, series I can highly recommend are...

    Breaking Bad
    Downton Abbey
    The Loch
Married at first sight (I know!)
    Broadchurch
    24 hours in police custody
    The disappearance of Madeleine McCann
    Chernobyl

Interested to know if there are some that we've overlooked that are worth watching

    Well revived, Dorset :emoticon-0105-wink:

We recently found (accidentally) and watched 'Queens Gambit' (a seven part series) on Netflix, which we were very impressed with, and would recommend. As a chess player I enjoyed it more, I think, 'cos I understood what they were talking about :emoticon-0100-smile

Netflix has several goodies that you can watch in a binge manner.

I pay for Sky, my son pays for Netflix Disney and Amazon.

If you are a Star Wars fan the Mandalorian..is good

I watched Bosch and Jack Ryan

I also liked Designated Survivor lots of sword sorcery etc on Netflix.

I quite liked Dexter and True Blood

Ps The Crown, Strictly etc... most definitely not on the list

You've got to try Tiger King (stick with it, its batshit crazy), The Confession Killer (equally batshit crazy), Last Kingdom (not batshit crazy but good), and I have to admit that I've enjoyed The Crown (some amazing acting performances- John Lithgow as Winston Churchill and Gillian Anderson as Thatcher particularly).
