65,000 at Roker Park day or night what an atmosphere, I was in them all from the late 50's till the early 70's it was why I went in the beginning, it was like nowhere else on earth at least that's how you felt, if you left the ground before your voice had gone you had let the side down. <laugh>

If I had my voice back for work, on Monday, it had been a boring game.

the fact is the new Wembley should have been built near Leicester right in the middle of England to make it easier for us to get to, but yer southerners would not be bothered to travel out of London i reckon. it was built in the worst place for traffic as well. i was there in 1985 101,000 is the unofficial attendance.

Ahhhh man I do miss losing my voice because of pure passion. Hasn’t happened for a while mind I have to say, think the last time was wembley and that was mainly shouting at our fans to ****ing get off there arse and back the lads..

I couldn’t get my head round it I’ve never known out fans to be so quiet EVER.

I think it was a mixture of the 'style' of football and the fact we've ome to hate Wembley ...

.... I only said, the other day, that it would be even worse if Donald stayed and we had to go again for the play off.

We usually go for 3 days but that would be there on the day and book a hotel afterwards, if we won. Otherwise it would be straight home which I never thought I'd ever say.

The league cup run under Gus was a great ride. MaUre away took me the rest of the week for my voice to come back

The wembley weekend took a good week to get back to normal, and linger for my luver to sort out the 4 days & nights on the lash.
