There's a straight choice.

A) Sacked on the spot for a stinking run of form, contract paid up in increments.

B) Leave by mutual consent with a big cheque, due to a takeover, and the chance to a few games to regain some credibility.

 

Don't normally agree with Parker, and might be wrong, but I don't see why they'd offer him that choice? The blokes not going to leave of his own volition anyway so surely you'd simply not speak to him, then when the takeover happens you can jump straight to option A and sack him (or offer a termination if you want to)? Offering B not only means a higher pay off, but also risks him not putting in the effort because he knows he's finished, whereas by keeping quiet he might think there's a chance the new people would keep him, so he'd work his balls off. Mind prehab mentioned that Mcgeady coming back was part of the bigger picture, so not saying it isn't true, I just don't understand how it would work!

I've only put this on for a bit of fun and certainly putting my name to it, as I said.

It would make sense if he'd already had the conversation and the club don't want a caretaker period.

There must be some kind of relationship with the manager and CEO so, if this was actually true, I'd hope it was mutually beneficial.

Not sure why B) would entail a higher pay off tbh.

There was no official press conference last week. They usually stream it live but there was nothing. A few journos tweeted some team news but there was no real quotes. At the time I thought it was very strange as my life is so dull that I look out for the conferences. I may have missed it and apologies if I'm talking rubbish. But if im right something is happening behind the scenes. Let's bloody hope so.

 

If Parkinson has only got 7 months left on his contract I don't see the point of any deals. If sacked today he'd likely get majority of it paid up anyway if not all.

I also don't see why they'd tell him if he was takeover collateral damage. It only risks him losing interest and not putting the extra hours in anymore. He will know its a possibility mind, he's not stupid. He probably has asked the question and been told by Rodwell "sorry mate we don't know what his plans are, just crack on until you are told not to"

It only becomes an issue if the club are secretly speaking to other managers and its got back to him, as it does in football.

 

Or Option "C" but that would mean returning to my dark days. Don't ask.

Sadly he's here until 2022, he got a 2.5 year contract in October last year. Why the hell we offered him that I'll never know mind, can't imagine he had many better offers than us at the time and his career hardly suggested he'd be getting poached, but that's Donald for ya!

 

I'm not sure of my facts here but it seems McClaren has been appointed as an advisor at Derby.

I'm also not sure if 'FPP' have just invested money into Derby.

What I am sure of is that I was called a fantasist for saying FPP has an ex-England manager advising them ...

Aye, apologies, when you mentioned a big cheque in B) I thought you meant a higher pay off, but on re-reading it I think you just mean he might get the same amount in a lump sum rather than having to wait and get it in instalments! Definitely hope it's the case mind, although if the takeover takes too much longer we might need a caretaker period. He looks finished, I don't think the players are playing for him, and we can't afford to end up miles off the top 2
