I'll be relatively happy even if they only provide bigger funding at significant transition points like L1 -> championship and championship -> premier league. Thats where you need it.
His interest in football manager would chime quite well against our new data based approach to recruitment. I wonder if he introduced the club to a swiss-based Xhemajli?
Can I just say the reaction on here is much more in line with my thoughts than “over there” loving the positivity. here is a privileged lad who has actually had a canny start in life football wise. No content to be a good rich heir he’s going out on his own. Watch this space cos I reckon he might go places.
One of our posters has a son who was at Uni with Dreyfus and shares an interest if football. Both father and son are top lads and are lifelong Sunderland supporters, both exiled. (One of his sons also knows a Sunderland player quite well.) Here's hoping it all comes off and he chooses to post a few interesting bits & bobs. BTW, I'd also say people, on here, tend to be positive but it's not blind ... ... certainly better than automatic negativity in my opinion.
Definitely! I’m known as a miserable negative sod at home but the missus can’t get over the fact how positive I can be about Sunderland a psychologist would have a field day.
Here's one for you all, this dropped into my 'postbag' a couple of weeks back but I was asked not to post it. But I've just had the same message from someone who says he doesn't care who I tell. That sometimes means it's a dodgy rumour but, what the hell, I'll hoy it up for your amusement. The story is that the manager was offered a deal to keep things ticking over, wait until things are all sorted then take a payoff. I like it but I'm not putting my name to it. It would, however, explain his recent demeanour and possibly the McGeady appearance. Whatever the case I hope it means the takeover is close and the new manager is being lined up ... ... so we don't have to have another dose of Kevin Ball as caretaker
Hes not honouring his side of the bargain that good....as you say hes practically downed tools by the looks of it
As you say,his demeanour in his press conferences has certainly changed, which, together with the AM thing, could lend a lot of creedence to this. Everything is pointing to an impending chain of exciting events.....I hope!!
You have to be impressed with the background training he's received. Not only done the start at the bottom at Marseille by ferrying players around but actually done a course as to how to actually run a football club and deal with everything that comes with it. Yeah, training courses and real life are different but no doubt he would've had some hands on experience in the business world as well. More I read about the lad, the more impressed I am and hopefully he can get us moving the right way for a change.
I can absolutely believe that's what's happening, shame he wasn't also instructed to blood some of the young players as part of the deal because he's well and truly in his shell and very little positive is happening on the pitch.
A lot made of his age.....But having just checked. Zuckerberg started Facebook at 19, Steve Jobs started Apple at 21...those companies seem to have done alright.
Sounds suspect to me. Hes contracted to the end of the next season so he wouldnt have to agree anything and they wouldnt have to really tell him anything at this point. What kind of deal would he be offered?
