Surely it's better to have Leitner on the bench than a third goalkeeper? Obviously we know little of circumstances, but even a Leitner who hasn't trained with the team is a better outfield option than a goalkeeper, especially with the ability to make extra subs. Arguably the same with Drmic. I wonder which loanees have break clauses? Soto does in January, which isn't much help. Looks like Quintilla's injury isn't short-term, so we basically don't have a LB until January. With CS's team sheet, we basically have an acceptable first team, and then essentially nothing on the bench. Another injury, in essentially any position, will pose real problems.
We don't have to have 9 subs,up to a few weeks ago we managed fine with 7. Why all of a sudden is it a disaster if we can't have 9 subs? It's good to get a couple of youngsters on the bench for experience and from a motivation aspect, even if we don't intend to play them. So there is a benefit to have 2 GK's on the bench even if there's no intention of playing one of them. We don't really know what the issue with Drmic & Leitner are, but clearly they are on their way out. I suspect it is a question of attitude and if it is I wouldn't have them anywhere near the first team.
If seems that Farke is adamant that neither Leitner or Drmic will be drafted into an injury torn squad. Seems to have a grudge against these two? Can’t help thinking that his attitude may cause us some further problems down the line. His explanation for both Leitner and Drmic not being available seems groundless and empty of any substance

Yes , we have enough quality in our academy to put some kids on the bench Nizet scored twice against Newcastle yesterday. If Pukki broke his leg and we literally had no striker options I would rather draft in Drmic but that's very unlikely.
Dixon-Peters is training with the 1st team this week, I guess he will be on the bench. Omotoye is injured so he is not available as back up striker.
