City do look a bit fragile at the moment but still have a great squad and Aguero is coming back. This has been an extraordinary start to the season with some strange results but I think City are still our main rivals with Chelski and Spuds behind them
Liverpool having a laugh. Liverpool get last laugh over £72m deal as Michael Edwards legend grows - Liverpool Echo
I didn't. Though I do seem to recall you saying Edwards was useless. Anyways, from that article this bit made me laugh: It was a stupid thing to do, but he hardly touched him. The irony of a sports hack labelling someone else "unprofessional".
Emmanuel Dennis will miss Club Brugge's Champions League trip to Dortmund tonight... Injured? No. Isolating? No. It's reportedly because he stormed off the team bus after not being able to sit where he wanted.
Micah Richards on Mario Balotelli being linked with Barnsley: "The first thing I thought was that it was a little bit too near to where I live! I don't want him coming around to my house in Harrogate and setting fireworks off in my kitchen again."
Pe Pepe was overpriced, I cannot see why he should cost more than Salah or Mane. Arsenal were ripped off..
Five players nominated for FIFA awards, including Mane Salah and Thiago. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fi...l-players-nominated-for-2020-best-fifa-awards
Pointless. Don’t understand the need for it. 2k makes no difference to the club, atmosphere etc. Might as well just not bother if it’s not safe to have a decent amount in.
I get that, but it is probably unfair to say Anfield can have 20,000 people due to its overall capacity, but a smaller stadium being limited to the low thousands. I guess they have had to make a cut off based on the smallest
Not just about big clubs though is it. Think of the likes of Everton Man City will be back to full capacity
A percentage seems to most sensible solution, hence that not being taken I think think it could have been a percentage across the board. For arguments sake, say it was 25% of normal capacity. A lower league team that usually gets 10,000 (generous) would be allowed 2,500, that's fine. But Man Utd (biggest stadium) could have almost 20,000 turning up. That creates a difficult situation outside the stadium including travelling. Also, the bigger clubs don't truly need the cash flow from fans in the stadium, they've got the TV money. Smaller clubs survive on fans paying to gain entry into the stadium.
I've been all over the place in what I think a good solution would be. It's the one situation for me where it's hard not to be selfish. Not that I want an unfair advantage, I just want a return to normality and holding off on that for others to catch up is very hard especially when we can't be certain that if we held off another couple of weeks, say, then all fans would be back . We just don't know.
Just a quick message to everyone on the board to say bye It’s not a flounce just a Thankyou You guys and girls (even the cock wombles) have kept me sane during lockdowns but the financial restraints and job losses in the household have now really effected the budget to a point where the mobile (went a few days back Tbf) and the wifi have to go - I think it’s midnight tonight If I can get on works wi fi - if/when I get another job I will - sack that if I get another job I think the wi fi will be the first thing reinstated lmao So defo hoping this is not goodbye forever But if it turns out to be so cheers You all do a great service - by giving a fan a place to go Take care and hopefully I will be back soon YNWA (seems the best exit for anything ever )
How do you socially distance 20k fans all turning up at a ground for a game? Concourses, toilets, entry & exit points, public transport etc? We’re not seeing those kind of numbers back in grounds until the vaccination programme is well advanced imo.
Oh mate, didn’t realise you’d lost your job. Wishing you all the best mate, hope you can get sorted quickly. Take care fella.
