Good Morning. Its Monday 23rd November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Radrizzani preparing bid for La Liga outfit

Various media outlets are reporting that Leeds Chairman Andrea Radrizzani is preparing a bid to take over cash strapped La Liga outfit Valencia.

If Successful, the Sports Broadcasting magnate will have to clear the clubs debts starting with a 24m to balance the books.

We have seen how much money it takes to get a club promoted to the Premier league. How much will it take to ensure a 34th successive top flight stay for Valencia.

The articles claim the Spanish club would become a feeder club for Leeds!

    Woodwork saves Gunners from defeat

Luckless Leeds struck the woodwork three times in the last ten minutes as the 10 men Gunners clung onto a point to take back to North London. The Whites dominated in large periods from the tenth minute, never letting the visitors have time and space on the ball.

It wasn't until the 60th minutes that Arteta's team had their first strike on target. Their only other effort was well dealt with late on by Meslier.

Leeds on the other hand had 25 attempts at goal; however only four were on target.

Arsenal were reduced to 10 men five minutes into the second half when 75m signing Pepe headbutted Alioski who went down like he'd been shot. Action replays show that Pepe's head had indeed made contact with Alioski, though very slight. Would you have called the red card?

From this point on, it was more or less one way traffic. Unfortunately, Leeds have only a point to show for their efforts, and have only won once in their past six Premier League games.

Raphinha became the first Brazilian to start a Premier League game for Leeds since Roque Junior in 2003, What did you think of his full debut? What do you think his best position is?

Phillips and Rodrigo returned to first team action. How much did we miss them?

    Morning all

We could flip it and say Arsenal only had 9 shots and two on target. I also feel a shot that hits the woodwork and is classed as off target is a better chance than a shot hit straight down the keepers throat but “on target”.

Spurs had 4 shots and two on target against City who managed 22 shots but only 5 on target themselves. This division is about taking those chances but we’re not alone when it comes to missed opportunities

    Morning all,

So I have slept on it and calmed down a little. I was less than happy after the final whistle yesterday as that felt like we had gifted Arsenal a point. Having had time to digest it more I think I can give a more balanced view.

Firstly, after shipping 8 goals in two games a clean sheet is a very important thing to take away from the game. Great credit to Meslier for that Saka save. He had had not a lot to do but was switched on when needed and his go go gadget arms did the job.

On another day that should have been a 4-0 win for Leeds. There are days when no matter what you do things are not going to go your way, that's football. Look at the Villa game, we had less chances but won 3-0. 24 chances yesterday and between the woodwork and Leno it was just not gonna happen for us.

I cant help feeling that Pepe being sent off may have helped Arsenal. We had been the better team in the first half when the game was open. When Arsenal went down to 10 they were forced to play on the back foot and sit deep like a Burnley or such like. In fact Arsenals best chances came from counter attacks in the second half.

Teams a man down are notoriously difficult to break down. Arsenal got focussed, put in extra effort to stay in shape and they sat back and defended. We played well and if you told me before the season started - irrespective of result - that we'd go toe to toe with Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal I'd be pleased.

If we had been offered a point before kick off I bet a lot of fans would have been more than happy with that. When you look at the teams around and more importantly below us not many are going to give Liverpool a game like we did and not many will gain points off City & Arsenal. Important point but so could have been more.

The only sensible thing Jim Beglin said yesterday was: “Arsenal now playing with a flat back 8”. That sums up the 2nd half and it was tough trying to break that defence down because they parked the bus and clamped it. Many have said Arsenal were crap but just maybe we made them look crap and we deserved all 3 points.

    talking points for me:
    1. Rodrigo is class
    2. Raphinah or Costa
    3. Who thought playing Dallas as AM was a thing?
    4. Alioski was excellent again and deserves a contract
    5. Pointless slagging off Bamford
    6. Poveda coming on and not Costa

As a whole we played well. A good performance by us.

Frustrating that we didn't convert that in to a goal and 3 points.

    1. Agree.
    2. Raphinha.
    3. Played there last year alot. Not a fan of him playing there all of the time. We need a new player in this position. Dallas is solid every game wherever you play him but his strengths are out wide.
    4. Agree. Could he play more central with his energy?
    5. Frustrating watching him at times. Hopefully has his shooting boots on next week or at least some with some studs in as he seemed to be skating around alot yesterday.
    6. Costa has been fairly good this season. Wonder if it's a niggle. Raphinha looks like he has cemented that position now for the foreseeable future. Competition out wide is very good at the moment.

    1) Agree
    2) Jury is out Raphinha not quite ready but will be
    3) Dallas as anything other than a wing back isn’t a thing for me, I thought he had a terrible game.
    4) Yes but as a squad player, Dallas needs to start there
    5) He was unlucky not to score, a great save denied him
    6) I feel Costa is slowly dropping out of favour

    1. Rodrigo is class. Will start next game I think.
    2. Both have made good arguments as to why they deserve to start- nice problem to have.
    3. Dallas was ineffectual in that posistion. Would have been better starting Rodrigo and Klich playing where Dallas was. Think this is what we will see next game.
    4. Alioski def deserves a contract. If not a full time starter he has shown that he is a great squad player and someone everyone clearly loves having around.
    5. Bamford was up against a great defender in Gabriel and an on form goalkeeper in Leno. Was very unlucky with the header onto the post as well, did everything right for it with the jump and header.
    6. Poveda looks like he is going to be different class. If he did not have Foden ahead of him at City I believe they would have wanted to keep him. Feel for Costa who has been good this season, could maybe have come on for Raphinia.

I would like to say a big well done to the club for working with the make a wish foundation for arranging the virtual ball boy. It shows how far the club has come in recent years and was a great gesture and something which I hope brought great joy to the young lad and will be happy memories for him and his family for years to come.

    Marching on together

    Afternoon all,
The Valencia story was doing the rounds in Spain last month, I really hope it's a no go.
They have massive debts, a new stadium that is still unfinished, it was started over 10 years ago!
Their owner is Peter Lim a very wealthy man, he can't refloat the club because of FFP.

Also anyone know anything about rocnation?
Seems we have done a deal with them to improve our brand growth in the USA and Asia.

Sound move mate and a top USA company formed in 2008 but a sports marketing and agency business formed in 2013. He has many clients (teams/clubs) in the NFL NBA, Baseball, soccer and loads of individual players from many teams in all sports including rugby. He has a whos who of players in Europe alone like Lukaku Rashford De Bruiyn, AC Milan loads and loads. A clever guy old Jay-Z. This will be all about getting footprint for the club and capitalising on our name and history

Costa, Roberts and Struijk on the bench so yesterdays subs getting minutes today and I am going to gamble here and say Roberts will be pants and Rodrigo will demonstrate the difference in class. Sam Greenwood also on the bench
