Not sure what you are saying in your first reply.

In your second I disagree with your analysis totally, and yes we got money for him, but I know who got the bargain and so do Hull City.

Grant is essential you are right, but Parky and yourself might think those two are the only options but their are others, I could pick at least 6 better from our current squad, I'll give you a start O/9.

Not sure if that's a dig but hope not!

True! But I still think, even with the current squad, we need Grant in the middle of the park alongside whoever is there - and fully focussed on the task at hand (playing) rather than him being distracted by management. Don;t get me wrong - I now want Parkinson out as much as the next person. But I don't want to lose what Grant has given us on the pitch. There surely has to be someone out there suitable and better for the job (than Parkinson that is!)

Also, I think the rules are that someone managing must have their coaching badges - no idea if Grant has!

Get Catts in!! He'd sort it!!

Now that is a dig, but I dont mind. <laugh>
I am not in anyway suggesting Grant should be moved, if you can look back, I suggested building a team around Grant with mobile support, first few days into the season, before he was brought in, Parkinson had started off with Power and Dobson a pairing that has never worked, just as I was first to point out that Maguire and Gooch as wide men up front does not work either. My views on Catts are well known, and although he did well two years ago we are surely not going to go down that route again.

When he was here everything stopped when it got to him (IMO) it looked like he needed a week to make his mind up going forward. Ball into the box was on he had to think for far too long.

IMO he looks a better player at Hull than he did here - let's be honest though, he's probably being coached far better! (just an opinion - I didn't rate him here)

No I'm not either and I agree totally about building the team around him. My "Get catts in comment" was purely tongue in cheek (and I was talking about as manager!!) - althouth we really need someone like him at the club as we don't have it at the moment. Our "Captain" Power couldn't motivate me to fart!! (and that happens quite often with my diet!)

I wonder what sort of relationship the senior pro's have with PP.
We can all see the problems within the team not to mention team tactics and I can't help but think if it was me the likes of Leadbitter, Flanagan, Willis etc I would speak out and express my concerns or do these players just accept what's out in front of them and just get on with it.
Does our dressing room have a leader?
Power is team captain and Grant is club captain do they not have it within them to challenge Parkinson.
    Seems strange to me.

I imagine self interest is at work here as elsewhere, after all even at this level a lot is at stake,, but the overall impression from the goal reactions and the general body language is that the team spirit is positive.

There was that rumour about Grant having a falling out with Parky and he was dropped for the next game. Didn't do any good anyway if anything Parky's getting worse.

Fair enough but I see a hellish northern league player. His problem is that he lacks the attitude to maximize any potential. Even when he was on the cusp of the Scottish national team he couldn't motivate himself to maintain form or fitness. I'm going to pretend you didn't sully the good name of Andy Reid, who even in his 'elvis' years was on another level to Maguire. I do recognize he's probably the best option we have but that's more a reflection of our recruitment than his ability. If we had genuine pace in attack, especially wide, we would be able to play a back 4 and not rely on Hume to be our only attack outlet.

Never said they were same quality - was more about the fitness you mentioned the Andy Reid thing! I'm fitter than Reid ever was!

I actually think we're both on similar lines here - Maguire's biggest issue is his attitude. He has a lot of ability and we've all seen flashes of it here and there - but never for any length of time. When he first signed for us he looked a cracking player - easily one of the best in the division and easily good enough for the Championship. He certainly doesn't now so on that front I agree. But I'm talking bigger picture
