They are certainly targeting Milner, but so far so good. I thought Barnes could have had two in the first half if he had his shooting boots on. Midfield is all over the place for both sides at present, but happy to be ahead at halftime.

 

Thought our finishing has been awful, especially Mane. Should be more than 2-0

 

Midfield more than doing its job, wini is absolutely everywhere.

Defence standing up, for all I said previously fab is a really good option at cb, they are overloading down the right, but milner snd matip look comfortable.

Front 3 look excellent, jota and mane are very much on it. Bobby looks more composed and stronger than usual, nothing stupid, collect the ball lay it off.

In saying that, Brenda has very much played into our hands, playing long has negated what could have been a very hard midfield battle. His wing backs arnt pushing up so robertson in particular has the freedom of the park on the left.

Miner worries me, they've opened us up a few times using pace down that side. Not helped by Milner diving into the first and leaving the second to run in behind him.

 

Simplicity itself. Please not bobby making the extra midfielder and killing this lot.

Their 5 at the back are stood watching while our 4 in the middle are killing them.

Jota is in anytime he wants, mane is extremely poor so far in his efforts. He's not watching offside and shots have been really poor.

 

To be fair, if you get doubled up on, any player would struggle, its up to the midfield to recognise the danger and help out, where we miss Henderson.

 

But as a defender you should drop back and keep the defensive shape. Diving in endangered then to play it around you send take you out the game. TBF to Milner, he's a midfielder and they are taught to go and close the ball.

 

Yeah when jota went over and the two of them managed somehow to let the guy turn inside and shoot I don't know.
