Why? Surely if the buyers are letting them keep a few shares, then it will just be Don and Salmon Pants hanging on their coat tails being kept out of most things.

It might be that the new buyers want them around because of them suing our former club doctor Ishtiaq Rehman for more than £13m for breach of contract and negligence over the Alvarez fiasco.

Because everyone knows that the club isn't currently worth 37million. Plenty of people can see the potential that this club has if it is run properly, though.

Its very possible there have been several interested parties but the starting point for discussions is that SD keeps shares and therefore most say 'no thanks' and look elsewhere.

 

Leave him with increasing debt and a mid table L1 team? Hopefully they've agreed a price to buy back in advance now, rather than being stuck with him.

I would have paid him what he wanted and told him to sling his hook.

The investors must be aware the fans don’t want these 2 involved.

And he may be useful initially in the board room as he's probably well aware of where he has gone wrong during his tenure.

TBH, Donald wouldn't be any use in tbe boardroom of a working man's club. He is useless, and worse is a gambler with a huge ego. If he was on Mars, that might be far enough away.

 

What a team that was. Makes me even more sad to know I have to watch our current lot. Miss them days

 

why pay it all up front if you can save money short term especially if donald and methvan are not going to have any say in running the club

 

I'm sure under the terms of the Madrox deal, Sartori and Methven have to be given first chance of buying any shares being sold and in this case Sartori has said yes and brought Kyril along for some as well. As long as Sartori doesn't change his mind then any new potential buyer can't do a deal unless Sartori agrees to either step aside or join up with them.
The price agreed might change if a new buyer was to offer more but not sure how they can even get to the offer stage if Sartori says he's buying and not stepping aside?
