I don't know. It really depends on how quickly our new players adapt and whether we buy in January.

It's an optimistic 4th/5th photo finish!

Would you? Europa league is near as bad as no European football, Thursdays night playing part time teams might have a novelty factor but it's a waste of time and there is little or no money or prestiege in it anymore.
Would be a massive comedown from the CL, we might be better off coming say 8th and clearing stock as coming 5th. No hiding places then for anyone.

WERE GONNA WIN THE ****ING LEAGUE!!!!!

Due to extensive investigation and research into this i've found out if we buy Marcelo for leftback, and alternate me between striker and attacking mid and maybe buy gotze or Ozil we'll win the league and the FA cup

BUT song will become upset and the board will have to sell him to munich for about 30 mil, then city will come in for a 50, 60 then 80 million bid for Wilshere, which we'll turn down, and Barca will come in with 15, then 20 mil for TV which we will again turn down.

It's better to atleast be somewhere near than nowhere near tho.
And the europa can basically be the carling cup, let the kids have a good run out and we'll have a much better chance at the league/cups because of less pressure/games.

I hear you and you make alot of sense pal, a quick question though, will these same kids be managed by Arsene Wenger? if the above scenario occurs..

I'm trying to think of it in terms of the players we will be able to attract if we have no European football. There are few of a high quality that would play for a team lying eighth, if any. I think we will have to offer them higher wages to come to us...

  11. I've said, right from the start of the season, that you'll do well to finish in the top half this season. It's not a wind-up, it's my honest assessment from what I've seen. Depending on the outcome of the Jan transfer window, I may well re-evaluate my position, but even then I simply cannot see Wenger getting a newly-assembled squad to gel that quickly.

This season is about taking it on the chin, for you guys. Yes, it's painful. Yes, you are going to have to be the butt of many jokes. It's the future that you have to look towards. You have every reason to expect that next season will see an improvement on this season.

Those of you who put too much store by this season are going to give yourselves heart attacks. Don't do it to yourselves.

  14. I'm not sure there is much money in the Europa League. From what I've read Werder Bremen received £6.1m for their run to the final. This year's finalist is expected to receive £8.5m altogether. Better than nothing I suppose but it feels like EU second division to me.

Perhaps it may be better to concentrate on a Top 4 finish unlikely as it may look this year and aim to clinch it next year. We should also consider asking the fools who brought to this to leave and without severance pay either. I'm sure they're already well-rewarded and on the basis of their performance, definitely overpaid.

6th - 8th with emphasis put upon winning the CC. Wouldn't it be ironic if our worst season in a LONG time finished in a trophy?

  16. Not much of a consolation though I imagine my friend but we may yet offer evidence of Murphy's Law at work.......
