Nice that you have that relationship with them.

I am fortunate I agree, but not so much financially...
They are a big outfit and they are not cheap. But I will say I've always got straight service from them in exchange for my money.
I've always accepted being a car owner is an expensive business.
I prefer to pay a relatively high amount and be confident that all is safe and well, rather than try to run it on the cheap.

I don't envy car owners who are on a very tight budget.

I do not believe there are any circumstances where 'pulling up a car mechanic' would be acceptable <ok>

I think your mixing up “pulling up” and “pulling off”

The @Appalling Rug thinks it is embarrassing that a man of 54 has not learnt to drive.
He's having another bad week, first @Ken Shabby is not allowed to have an opinion about the UK, and now this.

    Its true.

Mrs Thatcher said it back in 1975 - what sort of man in his fifties doesn’t drive & catches buses <yikes>

I think the world is a safer place without Elfs being in charge of a motor vehicle- one fat old bird on the pavement and it’d end in carnage !

Wouldn't Elf have trouble reaching the pedals?

Disappointed to report that he’s left me an abusive Voicemail, accusing me among other things of looking like an 1970’s American TV detective.

Moved out of London because of the traffic, started to despise driving. Have to have two cars here as it's remote, so a spare is neccesary. As I can drive for miles without seeing another vehicle, I can say I don't mind driving, but like? Didn't have a car in London for two years, so found out how easy it was to get around with public transport.

So no, I don't find it strange, but what I do find strange is a hobby that stops you driving. The only hobby I can think that would hamper you at the wheel is two handed masturbation. If this is indeed the case, then I've always been wrong about the size of Elves genitalia.
