She's no symptoms so I can't be tested; not bothered about being tested personally but would be nice to be able to let others (that I've been near) know where they stand.

Hang on, have just read correctly, your wife has tested positive, considering how easily its transfered, theres a good chance you have it, but because you've got no symptoms you can't have a test and then let others who've been in contact with you know?

**** me and they wonder why their finding it difficult to control.

    "because she's got no symptoms"

Government website says you're not contagious if you don't show symptoms. Still a joke though.

PS... edited my original comment as it was very clear

I'm guessing this is because they either don't have enough tests, or they can't deal with processing the numbers who might apply if it was open to anyone who just wanted to check whether they had it or not.
When the home test first became available months ago, it was easy to get one so why there is this restriction now is surprising.
The virus has been with us about 9 months now, you'd think they'd have it sorted by now.
We have the highest number of deaths in Europe. There could be several factors contributing to this, but it make you wonder whether poor organisation is one of them.

Everything i read about the handling of the virus has left me shocked, on one hand the government seems to have handed out money left right and centre with no clear plan, while also taking the bare minimum of action until there is no other choice.

A proactive, clearly thought out strategy was needed, unfortunately what we got was and even worse still have is boris dithering.

Boris is a burbling ****wit who has no right to be anywhere near a position of power, imo. I despair how such comedy figures manage to worm their way into the upper echelons of government.
However, this is a pandemic on a scale unseen for at least a century, and I'm not sure who would be able to do a decent job of managing it. The responsibility falls on more than one individual, and I think the entire system has been caught with its pants down. To an extent that was understandable at the beginning, but I feel they've had enough time now to get their act together.
A leader who has wisdom and an insightful understanding of what needs to be done would be nice, but unfortunately in these mass-media days politicians are judged on personality rather than competence.

Ive seen this repeated so many times over the last few months. The tories and boris supporters have no actual defence for how poor they've been, so have to resort to a fantastical parallel universe where Labour had won and corbyn was also ****e.

Well we will never know how good or bad corbyn would have been, but we a certain that boris and his lackeys are a bunch of bumbling ****s, not fit to run a hotdogs stand never mind a country.

Didnt Corbyn get sacked for anti sensitising? Can’t say I follow or take much interest in politics but not sure can run a country with that over your head... although I guess trump is proving anything is possible
