From Saturday, our bench should be busy from 85 mins then! could this benefit us? Starting from the Black Cats’ trip to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, Phil Parkinson will be able to make two additional substitutes per match. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...nefit-sunderland-their-promotion-push-3039638
Yes it is a good thing, allowing 5 subs.. However bearing in mind Jurassic is in charge... Will they be used...if they are do you have confidence they will be useful.
Won’t apply to us as the clown in charge refuses to use any until at least the 75th minute regardless of the score line.
Great if you've got a manager with the ability to make positive in game changes. Disappointing that the match day squad hasnt been increased to 20 in line with the Champions
It should in theory benefit the stronger squads, but with that great Parkysaurus in charge, it will only mean more confusion.
Like the salary cap. You've got the premier league and it's feeder league, then the rest. League 1 down, the powers that be don't really give a toss.
With the money involved in football now I personally think you should be able to change all 11 starters if you want. But 5 is a start.
Don't see the point personally. Five subs was only introduced because players might not have been at peak fitness due to the lockdown. They've been back training and playing for a while now, so they should be fit enough to cope with the normal three subs.
There’s a lot wanting it permanently. Personally I think it’s stupid. It’s a way of the better clubs having more choice to put something right which they got wrong. 3 should be easily enough subs
VAR allowed in the prem with 5 subs from 9, 5 subs from 9 in the championship and 5 from 7 in L1 and L2. Why does it feel like each division is playing a different sport!?!?
You're not wrong but in this league we are one of the better clubs. It would benefit us in the short term because our squad is good and the long term because we've got quite a few talented kids who need game time. Obviously Parky isn't the person to take advantage but with the right manager it'd benefit us and I'll take any advantage.
5 subs, sounds like a friendly, load of ****e. So can teams holding on for a result, potentially make 5 subs in the last few minutes to try and run the clock down, doesn’t sound good for spectators not that it is ever considered these days?
Sorry but the last one will not be before the 93rd minute and only if we’re losing. No point risking not getting the draw.....
