Mark my words, Chris Grayling will be along shortly to make that £21 million of taxpayers money look like chicken feed when he somehow manages to inviegle an astronomical contract which is Covid related for one of his cronies.

Sorry for your loss and situation mate, hope ya da pulls through.

I see your point but in light of a decade of NHS Austerity just letting the virus spread would collapse our health service and cause many none covid related deaths in the process. If you add all that to that fact the govt have acted reactively the whole crisis constantly putting us on the back foot I think letting the virus spread would be a desaster.

We're just not equipped to deal with the chaos that would follow imo.

That's terrible and puts everything into perspective.

Sadly we threw away our big chance to keep this virus out of the country or at least under control ...

.... up to 20 million incoming and untested passengers between the news of the virus outbreak and the lock down.

Now, it's here and just being shuffled around like pass the parcel.

    Sadly there's lots of chances.

I'm just not impressed, don't know one person who is tbh.

They don't even seem impressed themselves.

We were late into lockdown 1st time round and similarly this time also. It should have been 3 or 4 weeks earlier and with a 2 week half term break for schools. Atm lots of schools/classes are being sent home now anyhow

Test, Track and Trace loads of people are being tested, great, but it takes too long for the results and tracing is poor...

Let's hope the vaccines do get going quickly and those that oppose getting it, akin to Jehovah Witnesses refusing blood, bonkers...looks like the only way out of this.

ICUs are better ar saving Covid 19 patients compared to earlier in the year, but still hundreds die. Also has been mentioned whilst all these delays in implementing Lockdown and TTT happen, other serious illnesses are not treated, you better not get toothache and the economy goes down the pan.
Should old sods like me be in lockdown only...but my grandkids live with us (I have just done the school run) my son lives with us and has just gone to work...I suppose senior management and I could live in the shed at the bottom of the garden!

I do not blame Bonko for the Coronvirus, but if my reading of the stats etc is correct, deaths per % of population are high compared with most other Western countries,Trumpland may be similar.
There should be a reckoning next year, if I can I would sue Bonko for killing my Mum.

Certainly not as well as they, or any government, could have done . . . . they've undoubtedly made mistakes because this problem is unprecedented, therefore there is no historical guidance to be sought, but the experts that the government have used would almost certainly have been the same that any government would have used.

The biggest problem throughout this worldwide problem has been 'us' and governments around the world trusting us to act responsibly, but there are so many irresponsible idiots that think that any safety guidance/rules don't apply to them, so it was always going to be a slow process.

Boris (the government) will probably still make mistakes, but to constantly have digs to divide us rather than trying to be united to beat this, then have the inquest after, is massively detrimental to the solution :emoticon-0112-wonde

I have been very disapointed in the politicians who have been running the country this year, they appear to be verging on incompetent.
I was shocked to be quite honest at how badly they presented during the daily briefings, and the Cummings situation was very poor,Boris telling us he had acted with 'integrity'
.Most right thinking people would not think this was the case,in fact the impression I got was was that Boris himself did not believe what he was saying.

"... the Cummings situation was very poor, Boris telling us he had acted with 'integrity'".

At that moment they may as well have changed the slogan to,

"Do whatever you like, just don't get caught."

At Christmas and New Year people will do exactly that. At the start there was a feeling that we were all in it together. That's been dissolved and the Cummings scandal was the start of it.

Cummings was the start of it for me he should of been sacked before he even got back to London I bet Boris wishes he had done now.

Can never get my head round how somebody that gormless gets to that position it would be better if he had caught it and was at deaths door until it’s defeated and then people would understand how bad it is.

Gormless is not the word to use to describe this government, the have sense, in fact they are very very clever, its morality they lack. The people who vote them in are the gormless ones imho.
