We were great at knocking it about in our own half until we lost possession. <laugh>

Poyet was playing out dated tippy tappy **** with an incapable squad while the rest of the league were attacking space with venom. Have to say I preferred watching everybody else with their quick direct attacking football. Rest of the league were equiring lighting fast brick **** houses while we're signing plain old **** houses. <laugh>

You mean a formation like 442 with two wingers and two strikers that clubs have been entertaining fans with for about 150 years

I agree to a certain degree about not going back to the past.
I don’t know if you’ve listened to Gus Poyets What The Falk podcast interview but he talks about what he wanted to do here and why things went wrong. No manager can say they’ve never made mistakes or that they are perfect but Poyet had a plan and had clear ideas of how to improve this club. We need some of that right now, whether that’s with him or someone else

I'm not allowing the current results, etc to spoil my optimism over the takeover news. Nor am I letting lazy journalism like the Times article bother me.

It's heartening to see the French media talking about Dreyfus, and his plans, even if our own seems to be slow on the uptake.

As with FPP, the Dreyfus camp, seem to be looking for top level guidance and want to employ someone to oversee the club. That's particularly interesting to me as I've still heard nothing about FPP pulling out. They spend a fair bit of time, effort and money on feasibility studies and finding people who could provide a solid foundation for the club. It wouldn't be impossible that all this information and resource is being shared.

Le Figaro and L'equipe appear to be the place to look for answers.

Agree with this smug, could be case of 2 +2 =, but the fact sporting director, Steve McLaren mentioned who was rumoured to be FPP linked when hecwas watching our games is very interesting.

Also agree, yesterdays result in these positive times simply needs to be taken as conformation Parkinson has had his chance & as we thought not upto it

Apologies, I was up to speed on this thread until Friday p.m. when life got in the way. :emoticon-0101-sadsm. Page 894 to be exact. We're now on page 942 - would anyone care to summarise the gap with any pertinent info I may have missed, I don't have time to read it all today........

Athletico River Plate would be one hell of a feeder club and gateway to South America! Sartori has been looking into getting the best Uruguayan talent over here and this is a method to do it

Donald has agreed a deal with Sartori as many predicted. The new majority shareholder/owner will be Kyril Louis-Dreyfus who's family are platinum level connected and wealthy. It could all be settled by the end of the month and there's a possibility that FPP's interest remains.

The new people, as FPP did, are looking to structure the club, take advice from real football people and place the club in the modern age.

I don't think it's the 'good' River Plate, but the Uruguayan River Plate. Also, with work permit rules, we'll unlikely see any of the players over here.

This is just my opinion but I think it'll be difficult enough, after Brexit, to bring in players from Europe.

I wouldn't be so certain of that based upon the competence of the FA. After all there's a Liverpool in the Uruguayan Premier League :emoticon-0136-giggl
