She died aged only 60 and is buried in Saint Barbara Cemetery in Utrecht, the city of her birth. It is next to my favourite flower shop in Utrecht and a peaceful resting place
When? He's nearing 50 games for us!! I want him to do well, I do believe he's a nice lad (I briefly met & chatted with him a while back) ..... but the vast majority of the time he's dreadful. Sorry, but that's the reality.
Is that the sort of advice a schoolboy should be listening too? He looks totally devoid of confidence. First half of last season playing with Jarrod and Grosicksi, I thought he looked ok, in a lumbering centre forward way, even then just felt he needed a couple of goals to kick start, which never really happened, He seemed to have the edge on Magennis then, not sure now.
I'm just impressed that you have a favourite flower shop in Utrecht. Any Utrecht based flower shops that you'd recommend avoiding? It always pisses me off when shopping for flowers on the continent if I unknowingly purchase from an establishment which is not held in the highest regard. Any information provided will be used in the strictest of confidence, natch.
I think there is a player in Tom Eaves but he needs some proper coaching. His positional play at corners and free kicks seems wrong for a target man and he should be getting a lot closer to the number of crosses that flash either just behind or just in front of him.. Chris Chilton took Billy Whitehurst under his wing and taught him the tricks of the trade, perhaps Tom needs someone similar ? I also think his pony tail doesn't do him any favours, it just makes him look like a poor man's Andy Carroll. He gets penalised at virtually every challenge the minute he steps onto the pitch in every game so something about his appearance gives referees the wrong impression because every decision seems to go against him. Perhaps a shorter haircut and a full beard might make him look like a number nine and not like a chancer trying to look like Andy Carroll ? He's not far away in my opinion and is worth persevering with because he can play.
Off topic: My Son lived in Utrecht for three years. He found his neighbours very reserved, but pleasant. We stayed there for a few days and I have to say I thought parts of it looked like a posh Orchard Park. The refuse collection was a surprise, vacuumed out of pits at the end of the street. The transport system is fantastic and the journey into Den Hague on a night was perhaps the closest I have ever felt to being in a futuristic film. He went to a few football matches and was shocked at the gang culture surrounding the clubs.
At the moment he's cows arse and banjo - he looks shot to me, he just needs one to go in off his arse or the back of his head to mebbe give him a bit of confidence.
Hmm, not so sure - he scored 3 games ago against Bristol Rovers, then he was poor against Swindon, poor against Harrogate and I actually thought he made a positive impact on the game today, but his finishing was poor again. He also literally scored whilst falling over last season and that didn't send him on a goalscoring run, so not sure one going in off his arse/back of head will do much.
Eaves is a player that needs regular football to get back in the scoring groove. It’s very difficult to build any form when you are in and out of the starting 11. I’m sure that’s the same for most footballers.
No wonder the lad's low on confidence when his manager tells him to concentrate on his next miss. Roll on the January transfer window. Drain the swamp.
I think it's reasonable and fair for people to make a case for Eaves, but my worry is that it if he doesn't come good and soon,we could start shipping points in games we should be putting to bed. I firmly believe we have a real chance of getting out of League 1 this season and it would be a crying shame if we miss that opportunity due to misfiring up front? Yes,I hope he turns the corner, but at this moment in time there's no tangible evidence of that happening.Maybe the Club need to have a serious look at the transfer market for a proven goalscorer who can disrupt the opposition's defence and provide a serious threat up front? We are doing well so far this season and a sizeable contribution from a centre forward would be the icing on the cake!
I still say we need a specific attacking coach. There are scores of out of work good retired strikers available that could help, not only Eaves but KLP, and Wilks too...
Tom Eaves is a problem. He might be a nice guy, he might have a hairstyle that people like or don’t like. He might hold up play or run like Bambi but a centre forward has to score goals. His confidence is shot to bits and he can’t buy a goal. Time is running out for him and he needs a break or he will need to be replaced.
Eaves needs specialised striker coaching, like when Chris Chilton showed Billy Whitehurst how to score goals, get Dean Windass in, he will do it, there is definitely a goalscorer in there because he's done it before.
