That "geezer" you refer to was Gene Sarazan one of the greatest golfers ever and who had a bridge named in his honour on the 15th hole at Augusta....... some respect required
DJ splitting the field -5 for the day but only 2 ahead of Thomas..... building up to a fabulous final day..... The Mexican lad Ancer is some player....
DJ by 4 going into the last day...... There's an awful lot of young talent coming through the ranks and showing absolutely no fear although I dare say having no crowd makes a huge difference.... Those chasing need a fast start and need DJ to come back towards them but given how in total control of his game he looks at the moment that would appear unlikely... Should be a cracker and also finishing at a reasonable time.....
Watching the highlights on BBC. They seem to be obsessed with the Irish golfer Rory Mc Ilroy. I know politically N.I. is part of the UK but golf is not politics. Rory has represented Ireland throughout his whole career especially at under age level. The (GUI) Golfing Union of Ireland represents golfers from the whole island. Golf/rugby/hockey/amateur boxing on the island of Ireland have only one association - unlike football which has two separate associations. On a few occasions McIlroy has represented Northern Ireland but never has he represented GB//UK. Not sure why as golf is an all-Ireland sport like rugby or hockey or boxing. Would the Beeb be obsessed by an Irish International rugby player who played for 9 county Ulster and Ireland, eg Rory Best? Mcilroy has already said he will be representing Ireland at the next Olympics, not because politically that's where his loyalties lie but because morally, it was the GUI who developed him as a youngster.
DJ leads by 3 playing the 13th..... Tiger had a 10 at the par 3 12th and then had 5 birdies in the last 6 holes.....that takes some mental doing..... Aussies lad is doing his country proud currently 2nd....
Woods's ten at the twelfth was quite something. Twice in the water, his next approach found a bunker behind the green. He then chipped out of the bunker......into the water.
Interesting statistic Cameron Smith first in masters history to score in the 60’s in all four rounds !!
