Sadly, only the medical staff on the Air Ambulance is funded by the NHS.
This is one of the two charities I pay into each month, and although not a huge amount I have been supporting it for 6 years.

This petition to debate funding has closed, but it says that a debate is scheduled for this month, if not cancelled again.

Edit November last year. Don’t know what the result was, probably ended with off.

I also pay into the Hants Air Ambulance monthly - it’s very important to me. Hopefully I’ll never need it, but it deserves to have serious funding.
I imagine you’re right with the answer they probably got ..... of course, if the helicopter was owned by a pal of Pfeffel’s ..... :emoticon-0114-dull::emoticon-0114-dull:

Hoo-****ing-ray. The disappointing part is that he is going because he has achieved his ambition of severing Britain from the EU never mind the great losses this will incur for the nation.

The phrase “Rats leaving a sinking ship” comes to mind. And what happens to all that inside knowledge the little rat-faced bastard has got on U.K. defences? Does a hugely well paid job in private industry beckon?
He should be locked up and the key thrown away. I sincerely hope there’s a proper investigation into all the kickbacks and money paid to cronies, friends and relatives, then proper action taken .....

Allegra Stratton has been given the position of giving television briefings on behalf of Johnson.
She may well be the best person for the job, not that we should be paying someone to tell us what Johnson or any other member of the cabinet could be telling us, without incurring this unnecessary waste of taxpayers money.
I am sure that Rishi Sunak being her husband’s best man at her wedding didn’t hold her back, when her application went in.
Plus, of course, she used to work for Sunak as Director of Strategic Communication at the Treasury. [HASHTAG]#cronyism[/HASHTAG]
Is someone getting all his ducks in a row, for when Johnson bails out?

Made me think of this for some reason

The Second Coming

BY WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

That's a very appropriate poem for the times we live in. As it was when it was originally written, in the hiatus between two World Wars.

Is the falling out and resignations of Cummings and Cain a precursor for Johnson backing down from his hard stance, over the withdrawal from the EU?
Can we now expect him to accept the deal the EU are putting forward, then him to present it as a resounding success for his negotiation team?
I hope Cummings is well and truly tied up with the Official Secrets Act, and even put under surveillance, given the way he inserted himself into everything to do with the country’s defences.
Wouldn’t put it past him to try and exploit that for personal gain.

He’s almost certain to try - odious little creep. Send 007 after him - make it look like an accident ....

No Mr.Cummings...I expect you to die!

Donny could learn a thing from him though on how to concede. Uncle Joe now on 306.
