Maiga still wants to move - Sky Sports

We need cover for Ba during African cup of nations so I would take him.

 

Maiga is African too he plays for Mali.

 

After Ba and Best I wouldn't really want any of our senior strikers on the pitch to be honest as they're all poo.

I'd welcome this signing, fair enough he might have an attitude. So has Ben Arfa and Joey Barton and loads of our fans revere him as some sort of god.

Agreed. Just going by what I have seen on YouTube but I think if we are going to sign a striker I think somebody like Rondon (not starting games at Malaga) or Papiss Cisse who scores a lot of goals. Would love us to pull out all the stops to get Anelka on a free at the end of the season but I can't see it happening

Here's a tip for everyone saying they wouldn't want him because if he scores goals he'll leave for one of the big 4: the unfortunate reality is, (almost) every player who we will ever have who is good enough to be wanted by one of those clubs will probably make the move there happen, whether he's a guy like Maiga who makes it obvious, or those that keep their head down and just play.

In respect to his quality, I haven't watched much of him (L1 isn't carried on Canadian tv this year), and I would consider myself an idiot to judge him on a few youtube videos from last year. But if he continues his present form (pretty hard to believe he could continue averaging 1.5 goals per game) I think we'd have to stand up and take note.

 

Well as I said in another thread both of our first choice strikers are both physical and have a similar game. Would rather go for a more pacy, creative striker ... maybe someone like Jonas who's good on the counter and a good dribbler ....

 

Gameiro & Gervinho obviously didn't want to play for us hence they went somewhere else

If Maiga is happy to screw over his current club I have no doubt he would do the same to us if we sign him then a big offer were to come in from a Champion's League side.

 

Dont want Maiga, doesnt seem that good to start with and looks like he is the type of player that if he doesnt get his own way toys come out the pram, would ruin the team spirit...

 

small (5'9") super fast,technically brilliant,scores for fun 59 in 90 can play as the second striker or the lone striker if we got him and played 4-5-1 he'd be ****ing cracking feeding off through balls from cabaye and ben arfa .....trouble is i read last night that both wolfsburg and arsenal are after him in jan where he'll go for a song as his contract is up next summer and they wanted 8m for him in the summer gone,looks like he's running his contract down though.

As for screwing over his current club, its a Ligue 1 team. Its still not a fair comparison. Its not like leaving the mackems and going to Villa, or leaving Everton to go to Liverpool, etc... Anyways, if he was scoring just about every game that it would mean us doing well. If we were doing well enough for a European spot whos to say he'd want to leave if were making an actual challenge?

 

Sochaux were in the Europa League and Maiga still wanted to leave.
