It was a bizarre conference from start to finish... First bozza rambling on about toot coming over the brow of the hill , then brigadier fossy talking to us like we'd never heard of a swab before and some bloke that looked like a mole talking about scoring goals in world Cup extra time.... It was like being inside someone's kitchen at 4 am on a bender

A little more of a look into this and I may well not be in the first wave.
Suppressed/low immune system could put me at risk, TBC if transplant patients will be included is some of the information I have.

No more death! We’re all going to live for ever!

Could get a bit crowded down here on earth. Won’t be a problem though, I’m sure.

In the long run young people like you and I should be getting vaccinated to protect those at risk who cannot be.

The vaccine is made in Germany and backed by Pfizer and China.

How have we preordered 40m doses but the Us only get 100m, and EU 200m

Yeah I’ve been looking for the same reason. Those with low immune systems will possibly be excluded is what I saw. I’m guessing, but surely if you’re allowed to take the annual flu jab this will be OK? I wasn’t allowed the flu jab last year due to the meds I was on at the time, but this year it was OK & so I had it. I’m hoping I’ll qualify once they’ve got care homes and front line NHS done. So maybe early in the new year.

It’s not a live vaccine for flu, this appears to have potential live virus, so that would mean a big no for me.

Denmark has confirmed a new strain. Currently unknown what it's potential is compared to 19.
They'll cull the 17 million Mink

But the virus will still be around when they try rebuild that industry, and the Virus will go back into the mink population and mutate again.
The virus is doing that in China for sure, going back and forth between humans and wet markets

This is going to go on for a long time, and if one were to extrapolate current strategies, it potentially leads to a near future of most people on set basic income and not being able to work, with the rest who don't need to work with the public, or even go to an office the only ones with jobs.
80% furlough salary payouts is utterly unsustainable

The Virus is not going away, the virus is mutating, the vaccines won't work on every new strain, so where does it end?

It ends when the virus mutates itself into a largely harmless virus and that won't happen if we keep doing what we're doing.

A Falklands veteran has been sacked from a Covid testing centre after posting on Facebook that he was working alongside a convicted *****phile.

Michael Gill, who was convicted of trying to meet a child for sex, started the job at the Durham city centre site last month

When workmate Nigel Towler discovered his crime, he vented his disgust on social media - which cost him his first job in five years.

Furious Nigel has now been forced to apply for Universal Credit after losing his £24k-a-year job for what the site's operator, Sodexo, said was a breach of contract.

Questions have now been asked as to how Gill got the role while Nigel - who has suffered sleepless nights since his dismissal - said: "I'm absolutely fuming.

"I've lost my job and my income all for making it public that a *****phile was working there to staff who should have a right to know."

The testing site's operator, Sodexo, said it was "unaware" of Gill's crime when he was hired at the Territorial Lane testing centre.

A spokesperson for the firm added that it took immediate action as soon as it became aware of his conviction, adding: "We have informed Mr Gill that we will not be providing him with any further work".

The 26-year-old narrowly avoided prison last month after grooming who he thought was a 15-year-old schoolgirl via the dating app Badoo.

Newcastle Crown Court heard Gill offered to bring "condoms and a blanket" to have sex with the girl back in March.

However the 'victim' was a decoy and Gill was snared by the Guardians of the North group.

"He was pretty disgusting in his chats. He was wanting to take the kid into the woods and was offering to bring the condoms," said a member of the group.

"He modelled himself on someone from YouTube and had his hairstyle the same way, he was a proper weirdo."

However since his conviction, he claims the group were swamped with furious messages from people who had spotted Gill in his new role.

According to Nigel, the County Durham pest was in his training group when they both started at the same time, roughly six months after Gill's arrest.

"He seemed alright at first, but it goes to show you don't know who you are working with," said the 57-year-old, from Crook. Read on...

I always thought you had to have an Enhanced DBS to work for the NHS, no matter the capacity of your role?

I think it's privately contracted, mate. So it won't be the NHS employing him.

I know BAME wasn't mentioned on the priority vaccine list, but had my doctors surgery contact me, wanting to know my ethnicity, bit more than just coincidence I suspect.

Be interesting to see how that's managed. Apparently it's viable for 5 days once removed but that's not really a long time with the scale being discussed.
