WBA under the floodlights on Monday, a must win. Reed and Anderson are coming back for selection which is good news, it will be interesting to see who starts. Lemina didn't feature too much IMO against Palace but hopefully with another week of training he will settle down. We appear to be learning from our mistakes and it's notable from Scott's interviews the reliance on fitness levels, improvement here will make it all possible. Although TC's goal didn't change the result, I hope this has given some confidence....... We can do this.
We look much better than WBA. But then, at home to arguably the only team worse than us... I would hope so! All about playing lots of games with a settled XI now, building up experience and confidence. We have the players to stay up (just!), time for them to show their worth.
We have just got a bit sloppy in possession towards the end of the half. Anguissa, Lemina and Lookman have all just lost the ball in our own half in the space of a couple of minutes of eachother. The 2nd goal was a beauty, Aina took it very well, and on his left foot too.
I drop Mitro from my fantasy side and he gets 2 assists! Sounds like a good win and we are out of the bottom 3! COYW
Good to finally get a win and also a clean sheet! We looked so much better at the back with Andersen and Adarabioyo playing together. Much more like it from Mitro too, he didn't look himself the last few games but much better today, no goals from him but as mentioned 2 assists and was looking much more of a threat. Something to build on for us anyway, hopefully the players get a bit of confidence now.
Two good goals, a clean sheet, 3 points and out of the bottom 3. I'll take that as being a good night.
We were more positive and looked fitter, learning as we go seems to be working well. Not one bad performance, MoM FFC!
Next up we have WHU at the London Stadium, 8pm ko. It's PPV, Stream, FFC's Gentleman Jim, or radio. Looks like PPV will be scrapped soon!!!!!!!!!!! A stern test as WHU have made a good start against several of the top sides so far. There problem last season was failing against those at the lower end of the table, so long may that continue. I hear that Lemina is doubtful but other than the longer term injuries / getting up to fitness, we have abroad selection available. Our CB's looked pretty comfortable against WBA, with another week training together this could be better still. I have always been dreading playing sides like WHU due to their physical size and strength, but feel we are on a better keel this season and we look fitter. A point here will be a positive for sure, here's hoping so.
We're playing well, a couple of sloppy passes when playing out from the back but other than that holding our own. Quite an open game too, both teams having chances to break forward, hopefully one pays off for us at some point!
I honestly can't believe what Lookman has just done! Theres a time and place to be trying stuff like that, last kick of the ball to rescue a point definitely isn't it.
A moment like that can have a big impact on upcoming games. We score that and get out of there with a point in the last minute, everyone is on a high and feeling positive. Instead everyone is now dejected and on an absolute downer.
Totally gutted. Worst penalty I've ever seen, what was he thinking. In the 95th minute surely you just hit it. I've calmed down a bit, just a bit, so looking at the positives we played well I thought. I saw comments from West Ham forum that Fulham aren't the bad team people make out. Ok maybe they will say they didn't play well but we did alright and should hopefully continue to improve. We win as a team and lose as a team. We've got to try and forget about that pen and focus on the performance. Such a shame, let's hope it doesn't cost us at the end of the season.
That's just our luck at the moment. A crazy way to lose points. Parker has said Mitro had a tight hamstring that's why Lookman took it. Moyes has agreed he thought their goal was going to get ruled out for the offside. Just no luck. Played well, but Areola did save us on a few occasions. Looking more solid at the back, so we've progressed since the early game. It's just that we start some tough games soon and we needed points under our belt.
Everton at the Cottage today, live on BBC. The start of 4 more than difficult games, probably the one where we could get a result. The Toffees have a few players who may return from injury, I hope Richarlason isn't one of them. One doubt we have is Lamina, but the squad is reported to be in good health otherwise. Mitro needs a goal and if he can, I think he will get on a bit of a run, back on fire as we like him to be. I do get worried about the class of opposition but of late I think the opposition worry about us too. Hopefully we will have some positive discussion later today, I'm sure we could all do with some of that right now.
Our line up and a bit of a surprise. Fulham 1Areola 34Aina 5Andersen 16Adarabioyo 33Robinson 18Lemina 21Reed 17Cavaleiro 10Cairney 19Lookman 14De Cordova-Reid Substitutes 4Odoi 9Mitrovic 12Rodák 13Ream 15Loftus-Cheek 23Bryan 29Zambo Anguissa And Richarlison starts for them..................
Disappointing not to get something out the. We look like a side who are nearly there and just need a bit of luck to give us confidence. But the season is slipping away so we need something soon - especially with the next 3 games all being difficult.
