Rudy Giuliani embarrassing himself by claiming there was election tampering, particularly relating to mail in ballots.
I suspect the next year will show a drip drip of revelations of fraud as Trump's lawyers do their work, and that will do nothing for the unity of the country
I suspect that there will zero evidence found of systematic fraud, but that isolated instances might be found which will be portrayed by Trump and his rabble-rousers as being typical, thereby fanning the flames of discontent among his supporters and inciting violence. Trump should take a leaf out of Al Gore's book. https://videos.metro.co.uk/video/me...259891876/960x540_MP4_6744275394259891876.mp4
There’s probably not been a major election in history with zero fraudulent votes. There’s always some **** on social media bragging about voting on behalf of an elderly relative who’s out of it or a husband not letting a wife fill out her own and the net gains for either side will be minuscule. It’s a massive leap from that to prove some sort of orchestrated mass vote rigging and then a huge step from that again for it to have made the difference in multiple states to the extent it swung the election. In short, it’s desperate bollocks from the rapey white supremacist candidate.
I agree that substantial organised fraud is unlikely. But in some states results were close and if Trump keeps coming up with claims of proven or unproven fraudulent incidents, his followers will get restless. Which in many ways is unfair on Biden and Harris. They won the election and should be able to try to make a difference unhindered. I've also heard of a at least one Democratic group that has set up a website looking to track down Trump supporters for a reckoning. They are playing with fire and need to be stopped by law. There are well armed right wing militias out there that are ready to respond with violence to that kind of provocation. The United States is in a precarious position right now.
The best thing that could happen now if for all of the state's yet to declare to end up in the Biden tally. The bigger his lead, the less chance any (as yet unproven) foul play had any impact.
I think Biden could end up with 306 electoral college votes, which is exactly the number that Trump got in 2016. Trump will have to spread his dwindling litigatory funds very thinly across multiple states if he wants to continue his denial of the result. The GOP should disown him.
