I always find these articles very interesting but ultimately it’s just proof that what most of us have been saying all along has been absolutely correct. Parkinson wasn’t, isn’t and never will be the right man for the job. It’s criminal that Donald & Co supposedly looked at this appointment carefully and concluded he was the outstanding candidate when all of the available data suggests he was a significant step back from Ross. They then compounded their stupidity by giving him a ludicrously long contract that they can’t afford to buy out even if we’re the the bottom half of the league. If Parkinson was the outstanding candidate, who were the other candidates? A loaf of bread perhaps? A plank of wood? A traffic cone? If those were my four options I think Parkinson would still be bottom of my list!
what he should be measured on, a clear failing to address the glaringly obvious lack of pace in the team, the absolute refusal to bring any player into the side from the academy unless he is forced to do so, he is a effing dinosaur who has no interest in changing what he's tried for the last 12 years or so. SD wants shooting for giving him a 3 yr deal (unless there is a significant break clause in there) he has no plan b – and when he does make a change its either too late or its like for like and then wonders why we don’t get a result. the pathetic hiding behind ‘its other people's mistakes’ isn’t good enough, not once has he come out and said ‘I made a mistake’ which he could easily do when he picks wrong team or goes wrong shape – but he wouldn’t. 3 bad results and SD will have to make a decision – and by bad results I mean less than 7 points from those games – we have to be beating the teams around us. 3 draws and we are in the crap because he doesn’t know how to go out and kill teams like Bristol Rovers off – the good teams do that
Best post I’ve seen on here in a while. The happy clappers won’t like it, but you are absolutely right.
How many times did Max Powerless lose the ball, give it away or have it taken off him and on the odd occasion when he did manage to keep it, he either passed it sideways or backwards. There was even one incident where he received the ball half way inside Mansfield's half and he passed it all the way back to our keeper!!!
not enough desire in the box...parky, the desire is there you just have 3 feckin cart horses who cannot move above a steady, short trot...the problem is no longer service, the wide men especially did enough for the majority of decent strikers, nay...even HALF decent strikers to grab a couple of goals without breaking sweat...the fact that donner und blitzen und rudolph failed on all counts MUST tell you summit...get Supa Kev to hoy his boots on again even he would have done us proud the day. couple of points, mansfield played well and deserved that win, i don't want to take anything away from them...IF our luck holds, we MIGHT just be able to keepin touch with the top six until the window and i do not give a flying feck how many 'cheap' alternatives are grabbed 'because it is a long season cut short' i want to see any/all money spent on decent midfielder and a striker with pace...after that he can look for 'fillers', if those two positions are not sorted we had better hope our luck holds all season and this buyout/share redistribution/takeover/whatever goes through. yes i am feckin foamin, i stopped drinking, stopped smoking, nothing left to take my frustrations out on so feckity feck feck it!!
I agree with you Smugs. A good manager would have dealt with the situation and resolved it with the outcome being McGeady playing, even it is to prove PP wrong. I always remember Bobby Robson talking about Craig Bellamy, he said he was a headache 24 hrs a day at times, argumentative, always in bother and just very hard to keep in check but he said it was all worth it for the 90 minutes he gave him each time he played.
no-one wants to play for Sunderland. Donald and Methven might have stated that "the pizz taking stops here" but they failed to attract any decent players. Some idiots place Sunderland on a map somewhere in Cumbria. They don’t even know where Sunderland is let alone want to come here. It is no good trying to persuade youths from down South to try their hand at Sunderland. They’d rather die or play for a mickey mouse team down there. We need to find players from a sheet hole somewhere else who want to succeed, which means getting on a plane and scouting.or get our shareholder on a plane and come back as Santy. Jim Rodwell said the club will be pressing ahead with summer recruitment plans, regardless of any uncertainty over a potential takeover. As usual, there was a big question mark in his recent comments when he said: "We have to build the best squad we can with the resources we have available." That last part is the main concern. What are the resources available. Clearly the resources that have been available in the last two years have not been enough. That the current crisis brought by coronavirus will have strained those resources further is a major concern
£20k is all you get! It’s way better than previous years but I imagine his pay off is significantly more than that
Dire performance today..... 1.Negative 2.Slow 3.Sloppy 4.Disinterested 5.Lacking quality 6.No plan A Never mind plan B 7.Woeful team selection(Dobson,Power,Grigg and Graham) utter garbage 8.Flat 9.Energyless 10.Clueless 11.Lacking pace 12.Lacking tempo 13.No creativity( just get it to the wings and bang in hopeful crosses no one seems interested in getting on the end of) then repeat 14.Constantly pass sideways and backwards 15.No cutting edge 16.Finally under this ownership and management No hope
You are correct I fear. However the two wing backs did put in some good crosses, but Grigg and Graham could/would not get on the end of them, nor any midfielders came running in to join them.
Now I haven’t seen it, but I am going to argue point 7. It may look a “woeful team selection “ but those players picked should’ve been trying their hearts out to ensure Parkinson plays them next weekend. They didn’t!!! Dobson and Power, whilst I think they’re possibly the wirst midfield pairing I can remember, should’ve been capable to handle Mansfield (with all due respect)!! If Parkinson EVER plays them together in a league game, he should be shot from the top of the stadium into the river!!
How long have you been watching us as a matter of interest If Im honest I think you maybe be exagerating
Can’t even blame the player, not their fault they can’t beat the might Mansfield Town at home. The manager takes full responsibility for me, absolute useless ****er.
It'd be interesting to see the stats because it seems Dobson is copping it again but I wouldn't be surprised if Power was worse. If you take away his occasional long shots he adds almost nothing else.
Graham and Grigg were absolutely shocking today. No motivation, no passion, no desire, no aggression, no pace, no movement and worst of all, no goals. If I was PP, they would both be relegated to the under 23's until their attitude and desire improves drastically.
