Broadly speaking, takeaways (chippies for example) are open, sit down (pubs and that) aren't. Pretty much it. Oh, and sport is banned. Especially kids sport. And recreational. 'Elite' is good to go.
Well that makes it clear. So it's another half lockdown? This country is a ****ing shambles, full off bog roll buying ****s.
Lockdown doesn't affect me too much this time round apart from not being able to see people or go to the pub. Oh and no footy training for nipper. Had a conversation at work earlier this week which was senior management saying 'Really we want people working from home as much as possible if they can". To which I replied "Well I'm not working from home every day" and they said "Oh okay."
This isn't a lockdown. It's yet another feeble attempt at some half arsed plan. Maybe they should read the definition of 'lockdown' before spouting the term
Not gonna lie, am about to enter weekend three (the last) of the two week firebreak where I live and it's not made a whole deal of difference. Don't want to labour the point like but, I've worked throughout the whole ****ing thing anyway (no one clapped) so it's made zip difference in that respect. I haven't been able to play golf or do the grass roots football but the weather has been ****e the last two weekends so wouldn't have been able to anyway. Just did DIY and went for walks/runs. Very much doubt I'd have gone to a pub in that time. Had a work exemption to stay in a hotel twice a week so, again no difference. Traffic been similar to during lockdown 1. But, we're saving the NHS so all good like. *nearly forgot, couldn't by socks or undies in Tesco. Not that I would have anyway*
Same mate, in a bad way, it's better for me. I'm an overtime whore, so been able to pick my extra hours when i choose, i'm gonna be 5k up this year. Although it's broke me.
Looks like a Cormack McCarthy to me. Only ever read one of his, The Road. Was very involving, I wouldn't say enjoyable exactly but a very good book.
RIP Geoffrey Palmer saw him in a few things as I was growing up...familiar face looks like it that time of year again someone need to do the sweepstake thread
Going home in a n hour, looking forward to a proper chilled weekend. Can't do much in the 'firebreak' but at least the weather looks ok. Walk the dog, take my less than confident son out on his bike, take my complete opposite daughter bombing about on hers, go for a run, some DIY, drink some beer & wine and watch United lose pretty much.
Just finished an overlong Don Winslow and it's cooked me to be honest. Wish @NSIS was here to discuss but he's not, sadly. I might just buy that book of yours as my next one.
