The Hornets dropped to sixth position in the standings, but they are still seen as one of the main favourites to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League. Vladimir Ivic can’t count on the likes of Masina, Perica, Success, and Dele-Bashiru for the midweek clash, while experienced attacker Troy Deeney is rated doubtful. The Potters, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from a 2-0 defeat to Swansea City, with the team beating Rotherham United thanks to James McClean’s goal. Clucas has joined experienced duo Shawcrorss and Allen in the recovery room, but Stoke City are definitely capable of matching the Hornets, who do not seem to be at the top of their game at the moment. please log in to view this image Clearly some thought must be given to what we could do better. Taking our chances would help. ENJOY THE GAME WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE WORLD
Doesn’t sound like much will change really. More ifs and buts about the players retuning but Masina out till February now !
It is annoying for me that this game starts at 7. I will miss the first hour so probably miss Stoke's goal and tune in in time to hear out first shot on target that rolls harmlessly to their goalkeeper.
The local newspaper in Stoke is worried that Deeney might get some time on the pitch. They are hoping that he will not be ready to return.
Masina back in "training" today - apparently - https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/18842419.adam-masina-shares-picture-training-watford/ Probably be a while until he plays mind.
We need someone to do this tomorrow! Seem to remember this game - think we won 3-0 and Ramage missed a penalty.
Advertising haudin behind the goal reminds me of some beatuiful pairs of Mizuno boots I used to have. Cracking goal.
Will not be watching tonight as on a short break on the island of Islay. COYH and enjoy the game all.
Michael O’Neill has selected an unchanged XI for Stoke City’s Championship clash against Watford this evening. Following the weekend win over Rotherham United, the boss has decided to stick with the same team at Vicarage Road. The selection means that Angus Gunn starts in goal, and sits behind a back four of Tommy Smith, Harry Souttar, Danny Batth and Morgan Fox. John Obi Mikel and Jordan Thompson are in the two deep-lying midfield positions, behind the more advanced trio of Tyrese Campbell, Nick Powell and James McClean. Scotland international Steven Fletcher leads the line against the Hornets. Among those named on the substitutes bench are Liam Lindsay, Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Jacob Brown and Sam Vokes. Stoke City: Gunn, Smith, Souttar, Batth, Fox, Mikel, Thompson, Campbell, Powell, McClean, Fletcher. Nna Noukeu, Lindsay, Tymon, Cousins, Oakley-Boothe, Brown, Vokes.
Not that - was hoping against hope that an actual striker might start in a front three rather than warm the bench.
Without being too alarmist, I think we need 6 points from today and Saturday going into the international break to get our season and confidence properly up and running.
