Top 2 form and we were a coat of paint from beating Rochdale and Bristol Rovers as well. Despite some significant injuries we are ticking over nicely.

Sorry mate but that was as far removed from Portsmouth as it could be. They were poor for 75 minutes. We were poor for 60. Portsmouth played well the entire game and looked dangerous. Ipswich never looked dangerous except when we gave them their second chance. Burge should’ve stopped their goal IMO too so it could’ve been a nervy but comfortable win.

Saud from the first game. I’m not bothered how we play as long as we win games. We are now at the best position we’ve been after this many games in the division. Kudos to Parkinson on that for me

Edit - Changed my mind about their goal - it was a very good finish - not Burge's fault

Yeah not sure I'd blame Burge for that one it was a cracking finish.
I did before but, having now watched it back, changed my mind. Looked at full pace like he should’ve done better but it’s a cracking finish

Paul Lambert says only one side were going to win prior to the red card (Ipswich). Not sure what he was watching but neither side looked like winning. They had possession in front of their goal but, other than the one goal, I can’t remember “them” creating their own chance at any point! We gave them one but they didn’t create.

We created more chances than they did despite the second half being poor. Wyke should've had a hattrick

I was listening to Gary Bennetts commentary, made me laugh when we were winning 1-0 he says although Ipswich were having a lot of the ball it was infront of their own goal and weren't hurting us.
That we looked comfortable and were in control and could give them as much of the ball as they wanted if thats what they were going to do with it.
5 minutes later they equalised and he says we need to get further up the pitch, put pressure on the ball and stop giving them too much possession.
I love benno

This could be an important 10 days for us.

We have 2 games for fringe players to be given game time and the chance to push their claims for the first team. I'm expecting the likes of McFadzean, Diamond, Grigg, Graham, Sanderson, Embleton, etc, to play a big part.

It's for that reason I don't buy the 'resting Maguire and Leadbitter' story, they'll have time now. Never mind, that situation seems to have calmed.

By the time we play MK Don's we should have a few injuries resolved and fringe players match fit.

It's a long season and we'll need more strength in depth.

I said 4-1. . . What was I thinking, always the eternal optimist. Still 3pts is 3pts imagine if we ever do play well against a team, it's in our locker to destroy someone.

I can see where you're coming from, not so much against Ipswich but in other recent games we've created loads of chances, sooner or later we're going to score a hatful.

That's a very good point.

Ipswich are obviously a good team and it was always going to be a tough game, they have a few players I'd swap for some of ours tbh.

TBF to the players they gritted their teeth after the equaliser and had more shots & corners than Ipswich.

The centre forward scored a good team goal that was anything but hoofball.

We're not as bad as we sometimes think tbh.

Sure I've been saying this most of the season.

We've now been down here into our third season. And I am yet to see 90 minutes of scintillating football from any team. Us, those against us, watched a few other games as well. When we played Peterborough, Dembele was excellent first half - then completely vanished second. Don't remember hearing his name. So it's not just teams that struggle to perform for 90. Players as well.

Poor league we're in (as we all know) and I'd be amazed if anyone can say someone got promoted "because they played scintillating football. Hard work or cheating is what gets you out of this league (Wycombe case and point for the latter point)

Not bothered if we are good/bad/rubbish - if we keep winning games and being effective, I'll be a happy fan

Nice finish from their lad, smashed it.

Deserved red card. Lunged in with two feet.

Soft as **** penalty. There was a similar one in the PL a few weeks back. The ball headed onto Dier's hand from behind iirc.

Tremendous three points.
Yeah the Dier penalty, I was trying to remember that one... i agree both were you do not understand football pens...

Deliberate pens, as with a certain mag who pretended he had been shot by a sniper, definite pen and should have been a red for cheating, yep. A ball blasted from a short distance onto a arm/ hand..bonkers

I like Leadbitters interviews. He is always very straight with his answers. Gave the interviewer a bit of a nip for the blip comment. :emoticon-0102-bigsm
