So then, election night in the US. What way do we think it is going to go (not hope - I think the most the left & right on here are agreed on the way we want it do go). My Republican daughter and son in law have through me bet (You can have a gun in the US, but they won't let you bet) over £2k on a Trump win at average odds of about 2/1. They are convinced they have the money in the bank. I'm not so sure. The polls were wrong last time in Trump's favour, but this time he is not an unknown quantity and the algorithms have changed because of that cock up. Here's hoping it all goes to plan.
Biden to win the vote by 5-10 mil votes, but the electoral college (farce) will make it close. Trump will declare victory no matter what the result is and a massive legal battle will ensue that means the transition will be delayed for months and months.
When Conservative newspapers in the US have endorsed Biden, when many normal Conservatives in the US are backing Biden, the outcome is inevitable.
Yeah, I think Biden’s supporters, and the media, are all anxious because of the way Trump supposedly defied the polls last time (it’s arguable to what extent that’s true btw). Being a Dem in America at this precise moment is probably a bit like being a Saints fan 4-1 up going into injury time. Relax. It’s gonna be comfortable in the end (not for No7’s Daughter and SiL).
the amount of fallouts we have had recently as “You don’t know because you don’t live here” and “Biden is too old and a criminal”. I just can’t see how deluded they are or how different to the truth we see if that is the case.
