Farage's latest wheeze is an anti lockdown party. As most of the people I know who supported him have the bejasus scared out of them by Covid I don't think he's likely to get much traction.
It would be a shame if he didn’t attract support from those who backed him before. If this country can afford to lose anyone to Covid then racists are probably the most expendable.
2nd Lockdown ode Don’t blame Boris and his men for locking us away,* Think instead of the all night raves, that happened every day, Think back to all those marches, when black lives mattered most, And the crowded summer beaches, all along the coast. Think back to newsreel funerals where a hundred more have come, And street gatherings of the selfish, as stupid stood next to dumb, Some say rules are made to be broken, but their actions have a cost, And for every thoughtless action, someone’s life just might be lost. So don’t look to those in authority, when blame you seek to lay, We’re locked up because the selfish, have ignored rules every day, So in this coming month or so, don’t rant or rave or shout, Just do as you’re bloomin’ told, and burn this virus out! * I am NOT a Tory , I have simply copied this from somewhere else .
Interesting, BUT, If Cummings had been prosecuted and Pfeffel locked down borders, If people hadn’t been scared so much they all turned into hoarders, If science had been followed and we stopped the right wing press, We’d all be a lot more happy and not in this sodding mess ....
A great article in the Independent for all those who still think that Boris Johnson is the bee's knees rather than a truth distorting lying toe rag. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/ukne...e-yes-for-an-answer/ar-BB1aD5Et?ocid=msedgntp
Constant scrutiny and criticism of Johnson and his sycophantic bunch of incompetents across all media is needed in particular the rabid right of the tories spouting their anti lockdown rhetoric. Pandering to these and the ERG has cost lives and caused irreparable damage to the UK economy and it's international standing. Unfortunately changing the entrenched views of the tory apologists is well nigh impossible and any dissent within the party is dealt with by expulsion.
To paraphrase an earlier and far more statesmanlike Tory PM, A wind of change is blowing across the world today. Pfeffel is going to find himself up **** creek in a barbed wire canoe sans paddle in a very short while. Once the Trump rustbucket ship of state gets the Biden Exocet firmly amidships and sinks without a trace Pfeffel will cart his eyes around for a trusty ally. Just now I'm trying to think of one, perhaps Vlad is his best option. As that earlier PM said Pfeffel should have been more aware of " Events, dear boy."
I’m liking the image of Pfeffel carting his eyes around, although it does seem an extreme punishment.
Having had a hard lock down for 16 weeks where we have seen nobody else and pretty much not been allowed past the end of our streets, we’ve eventually got to zero new cases for the last 4 days. Ive just caught up with my mentor today to watch the Melbourne cup, god it was good to socialise with someone else!!!!!! They told us at the beginning it would only be six weeks. Our worst numbers of new infections got to 725 a day. Good luck in suppressing the numbers. It’s a long hard slog. The mental part is the hardest, anyone needing to chat PM me as I’ve been through it for the last few months amd understand your pain. Stay Strong UTS
If you'd put your head round the door 24 hours ago, I'd have asked for your tip for the Melbourne Cup, but too late now. 25/1 winner, I'm hearing...
I think we are stuck with him for a while, no matter how many more lives his decisions cause. I don’t think the Tories dare replace him until there is light at the end of the twin tunnels of coronavirus and Brexit. Parachuting someone else in before then would potentially ruin another of their chosen ones, in the eyes of the public, and put their next election hopes at risk. And we know that the Tories will always put party before country, so protecting their next leader will be all important to them.
Seen this being reported in a few places. GPs being prepped to roll out vaccine jabs in December. https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/n...F304vLZe4Gcq74kGGhhOb5O31He69JRUgxAUDg7C1GLsY
A lot of experts seem to be saying it wasn't necessary. One particular Doc in the mail has said the so called experts have got it wrong all the way through. Not that I take too much notice of the mail. But the Doc did make some prudent points. I still have some mates reckoning the whole lot is a load of bollocks that its just another version of flue........... Whats your view?
